Selena's POV

"Dad." I whined as he called me that stupid nickname once again.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I can't help it." He laughed not looking the least bit sorry.

"Why do you hate it so much anyway?" Justin asked me.

It was after midnight and Jason had fallen asleep a long time ago but the four of us were sitting around just talking.

I gave him a pointed look. "How would you like being called pumpkin? It's a dumb name."

"I think it's appropriate after what happened." Mom said.

"After what happened?" Justin asked looking between the three of us.

My dad opened his mouth and I glared at him. "Don't you dare." 

He looked at me with a twinkle in his eyes and I dropped my head into my hands groaning dramatically.

"When Selena here was seven, she wanted to get a pumpkin for Halloween and carve it herself so we took her to buy one at one of those fields. We were talking to the guy and not paying attention to her so she walked off..."He trailed off staring at me.

"Please don't."

"And fell right into one of the pumpkins." Cue the laughter.

"Oh wait it gets better. So now she's covered in pumpkin guts and screaming because to a seven year old girl it's disgusting. She stands up to try and get out but she steps into another pumpkin and screams even louder. And she kept doing that for about another three pumpkins. Ever since then I call her pumpkin to annoy her since she hates pumpkins now."

By now Justin's laughing so hard I'm surprised he isn't crying.

"Yeah, yeah, laugh at my misfortune why don't you." I muttered but I had a smile on my face.

"I'm sorry but I can't-that image is just too funny. Do you guys have any pictures?"

"Well we would but someone found them all and destroyed them." Mom shot me a look but I pretended I didn't know what they were talking about.

"I told you, it wasn't me."

"Whatever you say pumpkin." 

I. Give. Up.

Justin's POV

"Selena." I nudged her.

"Mmmm?" She hummed in her sleep.

"Baby, I'm taking Jase out like I promised today, wanna come?"

"No..too early...have...fun...." She mumbled, not bothering to open her eyes.

I laughed to myself as I made my way downstairs, dressed and ready to go. She was so cute.

I walked into the kitchen seeing Jason having breakfast with Selena's dad.

His back was turned to me so I snuck up behind him and grabbed his sides.

"Boo!" 

He jumped and fell back into me. "Daddy! That was mean!" He complained but he was laughing so I knew he wasn't serious.

"Are you ready? 'Cause I ate all my breakfast right grandpa?"

"Right." He ruffled Jason's hair making him whine.
