Sam's P.O.V

We wake up some time later with the sun streaming through the window. I slowly sit up, still in Colby’s embrace, and stretch out my arms. He opens his eyes and looks up at me with a sleepy smile. I can't help but smile in return, feeling my heart swell with love. I lean down and press a gentle kiss to his lips, feeling my own lips curl into a smile as I pull away. "Good morning, love," I whisper, tracing my fingers along his jawline. Colby’s eyes sparkle as he gazes into mine, and I can see the love in his expression.

"Good morning, beautiful," he replies, his voice soft and gentle. I can't help but blush, feeling my heart flutter as I lean in for another kiss. I close my eyes as our lips meet, savoring the sweetness of the kiss. I move my hands to his face, feeling the warmth of his skin. I linger in the kiss for a few moments before slowly pulling away, our faces still close together. I smile and press my forehead against his, feeling our breath mingle. I look into his eyes and feel my heart swell with love. I sit up, Colby following my actions. He wraps his arm gently around my waist. I let myself relax in his comforting embrace. Taking his hand in mine, I interlace our fingers, feeling the warmth of our connection. I smile and press a gentle kiss to the back of his hand, feeling my heart swell with love. I look up into his eyes, feeling my own sparkle with joy. Colby's cheeks flush as he looks into my eyes, and I can't help but giggle.

"You're cute, Sammy," He whispers. I press another kiss to his hand. I smile up at him, feeling the love radiating between us. "I'm so lucky to have you." He kisses the back of my neck. We sit there, enjoying each other’s presence.

-Five minutes later-

We both hear footsteps approaching the door. Three faint knocks. Devyn.

“Sam, Colby? Are you guys awake?” She sounded a little nervous. I quickly stand and approach the door. Colby follows at my heels. I open the door to see Devyn crying a little. I have never seen her cry.

“What's the matter, Dev?” I ask and embrace her in a tight hug. I pull away and look into her eyes, my own eyes misting up. "It's going to be ok, Dev," I whisper, my voice shaking a little. I sniffle, feeling my heart breaking for her.

“I woke up from a note from corey. It worries me.” Devyn sniffled. I take her hand in mine and lead her to the couch. Colby closes the door behind us. We all sit on the couch, I in the middle, Colby to my left and Dev to my right. I face Dev. She hands me the note, fighting more tears.

The note reads:

‘Devyn, my love, I’ll be back in a few hours maybe. I’m out with an old friend. I have gotten you food, It’s in the microwave. I love you.

Xoxo Corey

Such a strange note

“He never leaves without waking you up first.” Colby looks weirded out by the note.

“I know. It’s the reason I'm so worried.” Devyn let the tears fall. I hug her.

"Dev, don't worry. Corey loves you very much and he wouldn't have gone without leaving you a note if he didn't care. Try not to overthink it, okay? I'm here for you." I rub my hand in circles on her back. Colby reaches for her hand and grabs it gently.

“I don’t think Jake is here either. “ Devyn pulls from the hug to wipe her hazel eyes.

“I’ll go check his room” Colby stands, letting go of Devyn’s hand, and walks to the door. He looks back at me, our gazes meeting. His eyes asking for permission. I nod and smile. He leaves the room.

“Dev, do you have a clue about who this old friend is?” I ask her.

“No, I was hoping you two would.” Devyn responds, wiping more tears.
