I'll prove you both wrong

A couple weeks had passed, and I still had not gotten over what I accidentally did, I gave the crowned princess of the country I found myself in a flower which apparently means I love her- which is stupid why do flowers even have their own language? I asked Droy the plants mage about it and he confirmed what Cana was saying, I was hoping it was Cana just being drunk but apparently she was sober and apparently I am a dumbass- wait how was I supposed to know this? I'm ten (currently) at this point so I how would I know that. As I sighed to myself about my situation I tried remembering something about the princess of Tetramand, but I couldn't quite remember what happened between us. I sighed as the weeks went on until one day I was relaxing when a man with an intense mask and his Fairy Tail Emblem approached me with a smirk "Hey there kid, you're new to the guild aren't ya?" He asked with a wicked grin as four wooden dolls floated around him.
"I am, names Ben Tennyson it's great to meet you." I smiled trying to be friendly with my guildmate as I held out my hand to which he and all of his voodoo dolls shook.
"Oh I know, you see I'm part of a team who really want you to join us. You're strong kid and under our tutelage you could be one of the strongest mages in Fairy Tail, even stronger then you are now." He grinned; I was already put off by the idea however I was going to hear him out.
"Oh really? Who else is on your team then?" I asked curiously as he pointed to two green haired mages, one male with long hair in a red suit and the other a woman with glasses with as long hair as the male.
"I don't think I've met either of them yet..." I said trying to remember in case I forgot, I have been forgetting quite a bit as of late.
"Oh we haven't but our leader is the Grandson of Master Makarov; Laxus Dreyar- oh yeah I'm Bickslow and they're Freed and Evergreen." Bickslow finally introduced as I let out a sigh, giving an apologetic look. "Sorry dude, I'm already part of the guild and we don't have a leader; so it feels better. I hope we can be friends despite that though!" I said awkwardly, trying to salvage a potential friendship.
"Thought so, welcome to the- wait what...I was not prepared for this, give me a second." He said as he dropped his grin and headed back to his team as he started whispering to them asking about what to do in this situation.
Five minutes passed as he came back to me, this time with Freed and Evergreen who had suspicious looks on their faces "Ben, I apologize if you have to re-iterate what you previously said but did you say you declined our offer to become part of the Thunder Legion?" Freed asked as I nodded.
"I just don't like the idea of being part of a team with a leader, besides I have pretty good chemistry with Lucy, Natsu, Erza, Gray and Happy. But like I said to Bickslow I hope we can still be friends despite the fact!" I smiled as awkward as I was five minutes ago.
"You do realise you're declining the offer to join Fairy Tail's strongest team right?" Evergreen asked in disbelief as I nodded.
"Yeah I'm sorry." I apologised softly as the trio left without uttering a single word, leading Erza to approach me.
"Hey Ben. What was that all about?" Erza asked as I looked at her.
"They wanted me to join their team. But I declined, I have good team as it is." I smiled as Erza's jaw dropped to the floor.
"No one has been invited to join the Thunder Legion since Evergreen joined...and you declined it? I must say that takes quite some courage." Erza said in shock as I shrugged.
"I like going on jobs with you guys." I smiled as Erza's face softened.
"Well then, thank you for sticking with us." Erza chuckled softly as a yawn escaped our lips at the same time, I looked at Erza confused as I felt my strength leave my body...slowly collapsing to the ground with Erza collapsing near me.

Suddenly my eyes shot open as I got up from the floor rubbing my head. "What happened?" I asked drowsily as Erza sighed, uttering a single word.
"Mystogan." She said as I looked at her confused.
"The punk Mystogan put us to sleep?" Droy asked as he rubbed his head.
"He does this every time." Max sighed as I looked at Erza.
"Who is Mystogan?" I asked as Erza shook her head.
"None of us know, except the master that is." Erza explained as I looked towards the open door wondering what kind of secret someone would have to keep to resort to putting everyone to sleep.
"He's one of the strongest mage candidates in Fairy Tail," Loke said next to Lucy, looking over to her and then screaming as he ran away "Forget I said anything!" He said in terror.
"You'll never get a boyfriend if you keep scaring them off." Happy teased as Lucy punched Happy.
"Shut it cat!" Lucy responded.
"Only the master has ever seen Mystogan's face." Gray added as a voice with an electrifying chuckle spoke up.
"Oh but I know what he looks like too..." The voice said as we looked up to the balcony above the bar where a man with yellow hair and a cigarette in his mouth stood with a smirk.
"Should've known Laxus was here if The Thunder Legion was here..." Erza said quietly as Laxus looked over to us with a smirk, seemingly hearing what we said but how could he?
"Mystogan is really shy, don't question it..." Laxus said smirking to me in particular, as if he was trying to intimidate me.
"Laxus fight me!" Natsu roared as his fist caught on fire.
"Natsu stop." I said to him, knowing Natsu would regret it...this guy seemed way too off...
"Listen to the kid Natsu, you couldn't beat Erza so how could you even hope to beat me?" Laxus smirked as he then looked back towards me, ignoring Natsu.
"What do you mean by that, Laxus?" Erza asked calmly, looking up at Laxus.
"What it means? It means I'm number one!" Laxus laughed loudly.
"What, stronger then Gildarts?" Erza responded as he smirked.
"The old man probably is in an unmarked grave somewhere." He smirked as this ticked off Natsu.
"Grrr, come down here Laxus!" Natsu roared as Laxus taunted the Dragon Slayer.
"Why don't you come up here?" Laxus smirked as Natsu tried running towards the stairs but was stopped by Master Makarov.
"You can't go to the second floor yet Natsu...not yet." Makarov said in a stern voice as he sat there in a seemingly regretful pose.
"Someone got scolded." Laxus chuckled as Makarov looked up to the supposed 'number one'.
"You stop it too, Laxus." Makarov scolded as Laxus shook his head.
"I won't be letting anyone else take my number one position...Not to Erza, not to Mystogan- not even to the strong kid or the geezer...I'm the strongest," Laxus roared out as he looked back to me, noticing my serious expression "You should reconsider your answer 'Ben Tennyson', should you want to survive in the guild you should team up with the strongest." Laxus smirked as I shook my head.
"I don't care about that; I would never work with someone like you." I spat as the guild went dead silent before Laxus let out a laugh.
"You're a riot kid, that wont get you far though..." Laxus ominously said as he got away from the ledge and went deeper into the balcony where we couldn't see him.
I sighed as I headed out of the guild, I needed to get some fresh air which wasn't contaminated by his presence. As I sat on a bench I looked up into the sky as the sun was setting and the sky was orange. People like that shouldn't be in power, it's annoying that he holds himself on such a pedestal when other S-Rank Mages like Erza don't use their power to prove they're better then other people. As I took a few deep breaths I felt the other side of the bench gain weight and as I looked I saw Natsu sitting with a look of annoyance on his face "Just cause he is strong doesn't mean he has to be like that, so disrespectful towards gramps." Natsu growled as I nodded.
"I couldn't agree with you more Natsu, we can do the same things he can and we're not dweebs about it." I sighed as Natsu's eyes widened and a smirk formed on hi face.
"You're right...we could..." Natsu said as he looked at me "Meet me at Lucy's apartment tonight, I've got a plan to put Laxus in his place." He smirked as I nodded.
"Let's show him up." I smirked back as we fist bumped before heading separate ways.
