We're going on a job

As I approached Lucy's apartment I knocked on the door, reaching up to the knocker as I waited for the door to open. A minute passed and no response had been given so I assumed Lucy wasn't in. A sigh left my lips as I looked up to the cloudless night sky as Laxus' words flashed in my head.

"You're a riot kid, that won't get you far though..."

What does he know? I'm Ben freaking Tennyson! I defeated the Highbreed, I stopped Vilgax multiple times- heck I even recreated the universe after the Annihilargh went off- I've done so much more then that Jerk has ever been able to do. Maybe the best way to put him in his place would be to fight him and prove he isn't number one in the guild...no, I'm nowhere close to the strength I had when I beat the Highbreed. Sure if I had Humungosaur or Way Big I could put him in his place, but knowing my luck I would go to transform only to turn into Ripjaws. As I thought of the endless bad outcomes that could happen if I fought Laxus as I am now I heard some footsteps from behind the door. I turned around, expecting Lucy to be the one to answer the door, but when I saw Natsu open the door a confused look grew on my face. "Uhh Natsu, where is Lucy?" I asked as Natsu grinned.
"She's not back yet, anyways get in- Happy is on his way." Natsu grinned as I nodded and entered the building.

Entering Lucy's apartment, it was a Studio like apartment with a door and a wardrobe by the side. As I walked further into the apartment I took a seat by her table before Looking at Natsu. "Hey Natsu, so what's the plan to show Laxus who's the boss?" I asked as Natsu put a finger to his lips before looking out the window.
"I'll explain when Happy and Lucy get here, in the meanwhile wanna train?" Natsu asked as I nodded excitedly, getting down from the chair.
"Yeah! What do you have in mind?" I asked as Natsu handed over some green weights that fit my current size.
"We lift!" Natsu grinned as I nodded, picking up the weight and lifting it up in a slow curl.
"Geez, I'm not used to doing the heavy lifting as a human." I groaned as Natsu picked up a weight for himself.
"Your form is wrong, here watch how I do it." Natsu said as he effortlessly curled the weight in a different manner from what I was doing.
"Alright, doesn't seem too hard." I said slowly as I attempted to do it like Natsu just did, and whilst I got further then before I still was slow in doing the curl.
"Yeah like that, you'll get used to it in no time!" Natsu grinned as he continued Curling the weight as I joined in.

Ten minutes went by and we were taking a break as my muscles were aching from all the constant lifting, Natsu got me a glass of Milk from Lucy's fridge which I happily drunk in assumption he had her permission- I mean how else did he get into her apartment. "Your form is improving Natsu, maybe some of the techniques from your aliens have retained in your human self." Natsu grinned as I nodded.
"Mhm, my combat ability when I get older is impressive for a human thanks to remembering fighting as my aliens- though its also cause my Grandpa taught me how to fight." I explained as Natsu tilted his head.
"How do you know what'll happen when you're older?" Natsu asked.
"Have I not told you? Before I got to Fiore, on my world I was Sixteen." I explained.
"Oh cool, makes sense." Natsu said, not questioning it a single bit which I was thankful for.
"Yeah, I had dozens of aliens I could turn into- I was even known as the superhero Ben 10." I grinned.
"You're a superhero? That's so cool!" Natsu grinned.
"Eh, people wouldn't leave me alone in public so it was kind of a pain sometimes." I shrugged.
"Like what happened with that fake Salamander?" Natsu asked.
"Yeah exactly!" I grinned as Happy flew through the window with a piece of paper rolled up and sticking out of his backpack.
"Happy, did you get it?" Natsu asked as Happy nodded.
"And I got the cheapest one too, like you asked." Happy grinned.
"Good, they shouldn't notice a thing," Natsu grinned back "Well now this is secured, let's get back to training!" Natsu grinned as Happy pulled out of his backpack a small blue dumbbell.
"Yeah!" I joined the two in grinning as I picked up my own Dumbbell and started lifting it happily.

A further half an hour passed, and we were in the middle of a set when Lucy finally got back to her apartment. The moment she walked in she was greeted by a shirtless Natsu and me, we were in the middle of sit ups, with Happy still working on the dumbbell. "AAAAAAAAH!" Lucy screamed as I looked over to her confused as I continued to do sit ups.
"Welcome home Lucy." Natsu said calmly.
"You guys stink of sweat!" Lucy cried as I stopped doing sit-ups.
"Lucy, why do you look surprised that we're here?" I asked.
"I didn't invite you guys over! Now can you kindly go and train at your own places?" Lucy asked in a huff as she pointed towards her door.
"But Lucy, we're a team! See? These are for you!" Natsu grinned as he held up a pink Dumbbell.
"You like Pink, don't you Lucy?" Happy asked as he also grinned happily.
"It isn't the colour; I'm not interested in weights!" Lucy exclaimed as she then looked towards the table where more empty glasses from milk had formed.
"Sorry Lucy, I thought we were invited so I had some milk." I apologised.
"Ben...I'll forgive you since you're paying for my rent this month...but next time only come round if I say so- not Natsu here." Lucy groaned.
"Sorry Lucy." I apologised again as Natsu started doing push-ups.
"Come on Ben don't apologize so much! We need to continue training so we can beat Erza and Laxus." Natsu exclaimed.
"Then train out of my home, this has nothing to do with me!" Lucy cried.
"I've made a decision Lucy...Ben...I'm going on an S-Class quest." Natsu smirked.
"An S-Class quest?" I asked in shock as Happy held up the piece of paper from his satchel.

"What's this supposed to mean? You're not supposed to go to the second floor!" Lucy exclaimed.
"So this was what you had in mind, Natsu?" I asked as Natsu nodded.
"I went without permission and picked this up." Happy grinned, as if he was proud of himself.
"You cat burglar!" Lucy exclaimed.
"Anyways since it's our first time we picked the cheapest mission, even so it was seven million Jewels!" Natsu grinned.
"At least you picked the cheapest job. Wouldn't want to stop an actual S-Class mage from getting their deserved money." I acknowledged.
"Ben don't encourage this! Natsu we don't have the right to take on S-Class missions." Lucy scolded.
"But if we do it successfully, they'd have to admit we have the right!" Natsu said happily.
"You always do things in the most messed up way, cant you even follow the rules of your own guild?" Lucy asked.
"Come on if we do that we won't ever be allowed on the second floor!" Natsu said quickly.
"Whatever I'm not going, and neither is Ben...right?" Lucy asked.
"I'm in." I said as I looked at Natsu determined.
"Ben, don't encourage them!" Lucy said in shock.
"The poster says it's to save an entire island- full of people who have the right to live! If no one takes the job they'll be left to die, I have to save them." I said as I looked at Natsu who gave me a proud nod.
"Yeah that's the spirit Ben! Let's save the Cursed Island of Galuna!" Natsu said happily.
"Cursed? I'm definitely not going!" Lucy said with a scared look on her face.
"Not even if I give you half my fish?" Happy asked.
"Especially not now!" Lucy huffed.
"But Lucy, one of the rewards for the quest is a gold key!" I pointed out as Lucy's eyes widened.
"You should've led with that! Let's go already before they realise the job is missing!" Lucy shouted.
"Wait, I should probably tell Mira that I'm going on a job with you guys. You three meet me at Hargeon, I'll catch up to you." I encouraged as Natsu nodded.
"Don't hold us up Ben!" Natsu grinned.
