Chapter 42

Matteo's Pov
"You read my will." l said burning with anger at her audacity.
"l am your wife" Elena seethed but all l could think about was what she just said.
Pregnant.
Another weakness.
Most of all, how is it even possible because the only reason l married Elena was the fact that l knew she couldn't have children.
l was completely thrown of by what she was saying now.
l couldn't protect my princess as it is but now another baby was something l didn't need.
Bella was traumatized and vulnerable as it is and she needed all my attention. Call me selfish but my princess was all l could think about at the moment and l honestly doubt that would change anytime soon.
"l think you and your wife should talk in private" dad said pulling me from my thoughts and l roughly pulled Elena towards our room in anger.
"How in the world is that possible"
"Don't you dare" Elena said as l closed and locked our room.
"Elena" l began but she continued shaking her head.
"This could possibly be my only chance, so please don't"
"Help me understand because am so damn confused"
"l did it for you"she shouted but l couldn't be swayed.
"You can't have that baby" l muttered.
"Don't ask that of me" she cried but even l am helpless.
"Elena l can't " l said softly and she slid on the floor sobbing bitterly.
"No no no" she shook her head.
"l can't take on that type of responsibility as of now and l can't give them another sibling especially not Bella"
"You don't get to decide that for me" she said with anger simmering in her eyes.
"Elena "
"You can never see anything beyond your kids and especially Bella but to hell with everyone else huh, why can't you just choose me for once" she said sadly.
"Don't ask this of me Elena" l said pointedly because l had no doubt in my mind who l would choose.
"Why did l even bother." She said wiping her tears.
"Well too bad there's nothing you can do because this baby will be born."
She said closing the bathroom door and locking it.
"Dammit" l cursed throwing things all over the room.
l left the bedroom to the office and sat mindlessly.
l heard three rhyming knocks on the door and my lips twitched despite the turmoil in my mind.
"Is it safe to come in" Bella said poking her head inside.
"My princessa is always safe here" l said smiling at her adorableness.
