Chapter 23

Rosabella's Pov

"how can l choose between them padre " l heard my father cry and l never thought l would hear my dad cry so leaned against the door to hear what was going on

"I know figlio but we've been trying to stall her for 3 months to see if there was a loop hole but there isn't one " l heard my grandpa say

I have never eavesdropped on dad because he has always told me that it's bad manners but he seems to be in pain

"I just got my daughter back and l can't lose her padre but if l keep her then l will lose Elonzo forever dad " l felt my heart stop when l heard what dad said

"You won't lose Rosabella and Alex because you will be able to see them whenever you want but Elonzo, Max and Xavier will spend their whole lives in prison if you don't give her their custody" grandpa said

"I promised that l will never leave her padre and l can't break my little girls heart but my sons need me too l heard him sniffle and l leaned against the the and sobbed while covering my mouth with my hands so that they didn't hear anything

"She is their mother Matteo she won't hurt them" grandpa reassured dad and instantly l balled my hands in hands to fist because she wants to take me and Alex away from our father

Our mother and Alexandra stayed but my brothers moved in with dad and me and in these 3 months l was the happiest but l guess nothing lasts forever

I quickly ran out of dad's office to my room and l broke down

Ever since l met dad he has done nothing but love me , protect me but all l ever did was put him in pain

I knew l was never destined to be happy but l won't let anyone ruin my brothers lives

I don't know much about what would make my brothers go to prison but l know one thing for sure my brothers can never be wrong

My mother may have never loved me but atleast she loves Alex right? She won't hurt Alex right

I spent the entire day locked in my room because l felt dejected and heartbroken

I don't want to leave dad and my brothers but if l don't my eldest brothers will be hurt and l can't let that happen

I know dad will not let us go without a fight but he sounded like there wasn't another option and my dad has never been one to give up

My brothers have been constantly knocking in my room to check on me but l couldn't go out to meet them knowing that ever since l've come in their lives l've ruined everything

They had to leave their house

Dad and mom had to get separated

They had to cut relations with their sister

All this is my fault and l can't let my brothers pay for it

I was lost in my thoughts when l heard a knock on my door and this time it was Alex and in order for our brothers to be safe l decided to have a talk with Alex that will change our entire life
