OCTOBER 10, 1966THE MISERY OF MONDAY CAME BY AND FELICITY FOUND HERSELF BACK AT SCHOOL. Her mind went all over the place— Dallas and the decision of whether or not she should spend less time next to Veronica who happened to arrive at school at the same time as her. They greeted each other at the door but Felicity ran off to her first class which was Physics.
She didn't actually go to class, she went into the bathroom to let the time pass as there was 15 more minutes to homeroom. Felicity decided to have a smoke in the bathroom like she always does. The camel light coming in and out of her lips, the smoke in her lungs sent her straight to heaven.
Five minutes neared homeroom and she was just putting out her cigarette— opening one of the windows to throw out the stick. She gets out, hurrying herself to Physics with Mrs. Bolt who was an okay-teacher to Felicity but made the work hard most of the time. Felicity had no one else to blame but herself as she was the one who chose the class.
The class only had at least 10 people, an even amount for partners but Felicity knew no one. She spent almost two months speaking to no one in Physics, she actually spent nearly two months talking to no one in her classes.
Mrs. Bolt had entered the classroom which put the students into learning mode. Felicity was put in hell.
The excruciating hours go by and she makes it to pre-calc with the legend of her nightmares— Dallas. She figured that she didn't have a problem with him anymore as he gave her some good advise about herself. However, this meant that she didn't know how she actually felt about him.
Did she like him?
How did he get her to find him attractive?
This wasn't happening to Felicity, it was some sort of dream gone wrong.
"Glad to see you too, blondie." Dallas said from behind.
Felicity turned to him but it wasn't in such a mean way, almost as if she wanted to talk to him.
Her finger pointed at the empty seat to her left, "Why don't move up?"
"What's gotten into you, you're supposed to hate me." He teased.
"Sit next to me before I change my mind." She demanded.
"Yes ma'am."
Dallas picked himself up and dragged his feet over to the desk next to her. He slides into the chair but notices how clearly he can see the board from where he was.
God she's such a nerd.
More of their classmates come in, giving them weird stares when they noticed Dallas sitting next to Felicity.
His heart was pounding out of his chest like a gorilla stuck in a cage. He didn't really know what to do with her next to him, especially after she offered him a seat next to her. This crush was getting out of hand for Dallas that he was going to freak out again.
"Take out a pencil and paper." Felicity whispered over to him as the lesson begun.
"I don't got one." His shoulders shrugged, arms crossed.
Felicity ripped out a page from her notebook then putting a number two pencil on his desk. His eyes looked at the paper and pencil then over at Felicity who was busy writing the title of the lesson, Polynomials. It was in cursive and written in pen, no mistakes were coming from her end.
"A pencil can be erased, not pen." Dallas said.
"It's neater in pen. Besides, I don't mess up with my pens, maybe you should try it." Felicity's comment retaliated against Dallas' remark.
"Well I'll be damned." Dallas shook his head before picking up the pencil to copy the board.
Class ends for the two, Felicity gets out first but was followed by Dallas who did not want to leave her side.
"You headin' to lunch? I'm starving, let me come with you." Dallas suggested.
Felicity didn't decline his offer nor did she seem uncomfortable, she did want him to come.
They walked side by side together to the cafeteria. When they got in, Veronica gave them a glare and looked away from the two who did catch her staring but didn't say anything about it.
Dallas stands with Felicity in the long lunch line that formed itself— the menu had pizza. She turned around to face him when the line was nowhere near moving up.
"Why are you hanging around me, I thought you just bothered me because you hated me." She asked, not in a rude way but curious.
He liked her so much that he just wanted to be around her.
"You're cool, you ain't like the other broads around here who only want arm candy." Dallas lied. "Sure I made it seem like I hated you but I don't as much, well I don't hate you. I tolerate you, alright?"
"Oh so you like me?" She giggled.
He loved her laugh, her smile, he just wanted to see it all.
"Don't get too comfortable, and no I don't." Another lie comes from Dallas again.
"We should hangout then, maybe you get to see how intolerable I can get." She joked.
Dallas smirked, "I'm picking you up this Saturday then, don't dress too fancy."
"What?"
"You heard me." He chuckled as he patted the top of her head.
