Alexandra POV:
We were enjoying the early afternoon sun as we snacked on some of the food we had brought to have a picnic on the beach with. A few second slater footsteps sounded. Someone emerged into the beach.
Kyia.
"And what do we pay to have this fine intrusion?" I joked.
She only raised her eyebrows in confusion. "Howards already stole some of our cake." Charli explained, her face had a somewhat annoyed expression but her voice told another story.
Kyia chuckled, "Nothing. I'm not here to steal your food, unlike Demitry." She winked at me and Charli, "I am simply just doing my rounds as the schools police officer. I'll hope I will see you for dinner in the hall?"
It was not really a question, more likely rather a warning.
"YOU WILL!" I called as she walked away.
we went back to chatting and stuffing our daces full of food. Well, that was mainly Elijah. Seriously, did he have fucking worms or something? He'd almost eaten the equivalent of a whole horse.
Suddenly the water receded at an alarmingly impossible rate. Something Shadow like jumped out of the water as a massive tsunami began amending itself together.
"You have go to be kidding me Fejda! can't we have on day in peace!" I shouted.
Eli ran towards where the sand and water should have met. "Water linked!" He shouted.
And with that he transformed. All of us following along shortly after.
Kyia sprinted through the foliage that grew before the beach, scaring the life out of me. She almost tripped on the change of height in the ground from the sand dunes.
No! She can't be here right now!
The officer stood, frozen on the spot as she watched the wave. The group of friends did not take notice to her. Elijah had morphed into his alter ego a few seconds ago. My eyes widened, had she seen Elijah had transform into one of the mysterious heroes. He was already on top of the pier, trying to control the tsunami. Eli's hands shot out, trying to control the wave but only the water inside the wave would move.
"Holy-" Kyia was cut off by Ember using her gravity key to shove her out of the way of the oncoming tidal wave.
"I can't stop it!" Elijah yelled form up on the rock jetty.
"Neither can I divert it! This monster is somewhere out there in the depths!" Ember huffed beside me.
"Dam it! With him up there we can't find it in the water and none of us can do anything." I growled, this time Fejda might have the upper hand.
I racked my brain, going through every possible scenario I could think of, "Ember, join Eli up on the rocks- try and help him divert it." I locked eyes with Jaimie and Charli, silently getting their attention- no one wanted their identity revealed in front of a police officer.
"Give everything flammable you've got to extinguish that wave! Vault her up above with everything; the height will give her the chance to pound it back into the ground."
Kyia as still as ice, was frozen rigid on the spot but seemed to be getting her bearings back. As Jaimie launched Charli up on a rock platform supported by massive roots and vines shooting out from the ground one look at the scene unfolding before her, Kyia's legs wobbled. I rushed to catch her before her legs gave out and she crumpled into me lap instead of the sand.
Kyia was out cold in my lap. I could hardly do anything with the uninconcious police officer in my lap. I would have to wait till she regained conciousness. Who knows how long that would be.
I felt movement beneath my arms. Kyia's eyelids fluttered and slowly she started to wake up. Her honey eyes regarded me above her.
"Ice. Tell him." She mumbled, "Tell Elijah he needs to freeze it."
I jolted in shock. Kyia must have seen Elijah transform. Did she see Charli as well? Me? All of us?
Kyia was passed out in my lap. Again.
Eli, did not have a key to my knowledge, that could freeze the water.......
There was one ridiculous thought that wandered into my head.
"Charli, Elijah. This may be our last shot, but I want Char to hit the water with everything she's got! Make it as hot as you can. Eli, I need you to immediately and cool the water down! The rapidly cooled water should be enough that the tidal wave freezes!"
Jaimie's eyes widened in realisation, "Alex.......That's- Genius!"
The two worked together as fast as they could. Trying multiple times to heat and immediately cool the water but our efforts proved futile.
The wave, no matter what, relentlessly surged forward.
We were fighting a losing battle.
Kyia awoke with a start, jolting out of my grasp. She took in her surroundings once again; bewildered by what she saw. Then, she turned to me.
"Who are you? Really?" Kyia asked, astounded.
I had no idea myself who we even were. Just a bunch of teenagers given extortionary powers after having a vision and visiting the asteroid that crashed into Lyserdin Mountain. Trying to save the world from the likes of this mystery Fejda. Trying to make sense out of all of this.
"That I can't tell you. I'm sorry." I stated.
"Then tell me how Elijah became-" Kyia was cut off by Charli.
"Watch out!" she screamed.
Kyia's' whole body tensed. Then she froze. Her movements were sharp and rigid. She knew it was Charlis' voice.
"Ch- Charli. How?" breathlessly, Kyia said as Char landed in front of us.
A rouge part of the wave splashed near us, sending a torrent of water- equivalent to a swimming pool. It would have washed us away if Charli had not used her blaze key and burnt the water into steam by sending a blast of fire in its direction.
"I can't really explain right now Ky. Aqua, let's try again!"
"You got it, Scarlet!" Eli called.
We'd come up with these names long ago but we never had used them because every time we encountered the enemy, no one else was around but us. Fejda's monster and or Fjerda himself.
This was it. The wave kept on prevailing even though Charli and Elijah were giving everything they had at it- I could see their energy depleting quicker and quicker by the second. Jaimie and Ember were laying in the sand, almost passed out from exhaustion.
The wave loomed closer. And closer.
Kyia awoke with a convulse. Her eyes darted to Charli and Elijah, then to Jaimie and Ember. She inhaled a gasp when Jaimie and Embers disguise vanished with their coloured lights.
Something. Manifested in front of her.
