Howard's POV:

Kyia had begun her investigation. The window had been opened last afternoon, when everyone was mainly still in celebration mode. My mind kept jumping to Marcus, but Kyia had confirmed he was out of town with his father. His friend Jack had been out with his friends in town, and I had seen him personally enter the gate around the time Kyia suspects the culprits attempted to raid my office. Everyone else has been acounted for at breakfast, so they must have left the hall just after I let the hall.

I had wandered around the school grounds to see if I could find any students missing from their classes or acting strangely. I had come down the halls of the main building, I caught a glimpse of Alex and Elijah but they disappeared quickly soon after. I guess lunch was calling them because the next time I seen them they were walking across the garden with their food. Eli, of course was already eating his; I chuckled when Alexandra slapped his arm after checking her phone. He'd tried to eat the food in the second container.

Not getting any luck, I stalked back to my office. To which, Kyia had finished investigating in. She said that they had to have come through the window and out my door.

My door however, had a special lock on it that allowed you to lock it form the inside and you needed a key to open it if it was locked. To which it was. I was getting ready for Christs' sake! No one wants a student in their office while they get ready.

So that means they had a key to open my door.....

But why use the window?

As if they knew I was going to be out. But didn't plan on the meeting time being changed. Even worse is thst no fingerprints were left. Not even footprints. Kyia had scowled at that and rolled her eyes. Almost like she knew what was going on.

It was if they had purely come to be a nossy sneakybeak. Though, the key thing was triping me up out of all of this. Only two people had a key to get into this room, thst lock could be licked but it had a complex desgin and would take ages, so it had to have been one person with a key. And I don't think Charli would have given up hers so easily.

Strange. Nothing had been taken. Or touched. The only thing that had been disturbed was the window.

Though, I had heard my door unlock as they had rumaged around in my office. I had retired early from the celebrarions yesterday because I had a meeting today with the staff of the school and some from the department of education. No one knew about that. No one would know when ot started and what time it ended. And it had finished early- so anyone that did know hadn't expected the meeting to end early.

Something crunched underneath my shoe when I went to take a step I lifted my foot up to see a pin. I picked it up.

It was a pin. Only one person had a pin. I had given it to her. The desgin of a hockey stick and our countries elblem with the olympic rings stood out as clear as day.

Charli.

Of course. She had known about the meeting. She wanted to spend some time together afterwards but the meeting had ended early. And whoever had been in my office whilst I was getting changed had known to use the window as a precation. They had used the door to slip out once they realised I was present. That's why it was open. They had to have a key to unlock it to leave.

Charli had been counting on the meeting to sneak into my room, what she hadn't been counting on was for it to end early. Why would my niece want to sneak into my room? A boom sounded outside, and someone shrieked on the other side of my door.

"You've got to be kidding me." I heard Alexandra groan quietly.

Multiple sets of footsteps echoed throughout the corridor, running off in the direction of the boom.

Suddenly a silver flash of illuminatimg light lit up my office like a beacon in the obsidion midnight sky.

I snatched the key and the bracelet off my desk, within an instant the glow faded out.

We ran through the large halls. I cleared the stairs two at a time; which was hard to do on a spiral staircase that was matt black. Which also conveniently matched with the black floor. This was most likely the only chance I would see our mystery superheroes. It was if the hallways were physically extending themselves, making it longer and more confusing for me to find my way out. I finally made it to the exit.

Kyia appeared in front of me, "Howards, you might want to head back upstairs." She told me, her words all rushed on a exhausted breath.

Had she ran here?

Something roared up above, casting a shadow over the building.

"Looks like dinosaur's back!" Alex joked.

Standing around twenty meters tall above us and the whole academy was a giant dinosaur looking figure made from completely shadow. There were parts of the monster that shadow itself was wisping out of the thing.

"What- Is.........That!" I shouted.

"Demitry! Now's not the time! Head upstairs and sound the fire alarm!" Kyia ordered.

I growled, then turned on my heel, running up the stairs to my office. Kyia and I were having a serious talk after this.

A huge shuddering sound shook the building. I crouched low, trying to avoid the window to the outside on my right. When it only got worse I threw my self to the ground and braced with my hands covering my head. Once the shaking eventually stopped, I renewed my mission. Until something stopped me dead in my tracks.

Charli. Standing there, giving the shadow dino a massive mouthful of invisible words.

What is she doing!
