Charlis' POV
I have no idea where Alex managed to get off to after the battle. Also I can't help but notice my Aunt isn't present. She was one of the first staff to be present- always.
Elijah is chewing loudly as he feeds his face, "Eli! For once could you slow down!" I snap.
Alex strode into the hall.
"Where the hell have you been?" I cry.
"Informing your principal about what happened!" Alex says as she sits down.
The whole table goes pale, I can tell that my checks are red. I feel light headed.
"Relax, I never told her any of our.....Adventures. I only informed her of where we were. She knows that we were doing our assessments, then we ran to our house after the dino appeared."
"I could kill you." I growl.
"I think someone wouldn't like to deal with the other end of your fiery temper."
The temperature changes around us, dropping by a few degrees. The hairs on my arms stand up, and lumps form on my skin.
"Are we good arguing? Creating quite a scene for your performance, I see." A smug, familiar voice whispers behind us.
My. Aunt.
she winks at Alexandra and I can see the rage build up in her eyes. I can feel the fire burning inside my right now, ready to be relinquished.
"Now, now. Let's keep it civil. Howards, as you said. People. Are watching." Alex whisper's; I'm not an idiot, I can point out the double meaning in her voice.
"If I hear anyone threatening to cause more arguments they might just have to pay me a visit." Howards whirled on the growing spectators.
My eyes widen with astonishment. She's never been this outgoing with her students ever. And they too know it, the look of shock on their faces is evidence. Just as Howie walks away with her new confidence showing in each step has be begging to ask so many questions.
Alex sighs and takes a huge bite of her chicken.
Dinner continues as usual, people chatting- although louder than usual- the clatter of plates and utensils and idle talk of notices passed between teacher's and students.
My eyes widen when I see my Aunt stand up again. Almost instantly the room goes silent. She hates speaking to the students but she'll do when necessary- this, this was totally uncalled for. When did my Aunt get so brave.
"I assume, assume you all know that when these mysterious attacks are happening that you all do not leave the school grounds unless necessary- to escape from danger. Not to hunt danger down- I have already expelled two students for this unacceptable behavior, and a third knows their on their last strike. Let me make it known to you. There are people out there, Police and some other secret force that spends their lives on a whim to stop these attacks from become worse than they already are. They do not need you frolicking around anywhere near the danger and putting yourself in harms way." Howdy reprimands almost everyone.
Kyia is blushing her arse off behind my aunt, blaming it on the heat in the room even though the aircons are on almost full blast. A confused Thalindor is looking at her with half of the teaching staff, thinking she's going to faint.
I'm glad our table choose this back seat against the wall because all of our faces are a bright scarlet red. Everyone would have seen our reactions if we had chosen to sit somewhere else.
My Aunts' grey eyes dart over to us for a split millisecond then back to the front of the room.
"What the hell was that about?"
