"Boo!" Adam exclaimed, causing both Allen and me to jump. Allen's iPod slipped from his grasp in his surprise, but thankfully it remained intact.
As Allen shot Adam a reproachful look, I couldn't help but feel irritated by Adam's antics.
"Seriously, Adam, stop messing around," I scolded him, my tone more assertive than usual.
Both of them turned to me, and Adam's playful expression turned into a mischievous smirk.
"Does that mean I can tease you?" he countered, closing the gap between us and wrapping his arm around my waist in one swift motion.
"Adam, come on, let her go," Allen interjected, his voice tinged with concern.
But Adam ignored his warning, leaning in closer to me. "I can't resist when I know you're mine," he declared boldly, causing my cheeks to flush with embarrassment as I lightly smacked his shoulder.
"Excuse me? I'm not anyone's possession," I retorted, trying to sound confident despite the fluttering of my heart.
Adam leaned in to place a kiss on my cheek, further unsettling my emotions.
As he pulled an inch away, I realized that something had shifted between us since this morning, but I wasn't ready to address it just yet. We needed to figure out our feelings before declaring anything to the world.
With a shake of his head, Allen excused himself, leaving us alone in the corridor.
I shifted uncomfortably as Adam continued to hold me close, ignoring the passing students.
"Adam, let me go. People are staring," I insisted, gesturing to the approaching students.
"Let them stare. I don't care," he replied with a smirk, his grip tightening around me.
I frowned at his stubbornness and lightly kicked his legs in protest.
"Ouch! Okay, okay, I'll let you go," he relented, releasing me with a scowl.
As we descended the stairs together, Adam made a cryptic remark about making my legs immovable, leaving me puzzled. "And how do you plan to do that?" I teased, earning a nonchalant shrug in response.
Our banter continued as we reached the ground floor, but my amusement turned to shock when Adam suddenly pinned me against the wall.
"Damn it, Anna," he muttered, his breath hot against my ear as he restrained my hands above my head.
I gasped, my heart pounding wildly as Adam's proximity sent shivers down my spine. His husky voice and gentle touch overwhelmed my senses, and I closed my eyes, losing myself in the moment.
Before I could gather my thoughts, Adam pulled away abruptly, his attention diverted by a phone call.
Feeling bewildered and slightly hurt, I watched as he walked away without a second glance.
Confusion and frustration swirling inside me, I made my way to the lunchroom, trying to shake off the lingering effects of Adam's unexpected actions.

Madison's teasing brought a flush to my cheeks as I faced the group of friends gathered around.
"I could see you guys colliding in the corridor. Not the best place for a rendezvous, considering you're both quite the eye-catching pair," she teased, earning chuckles from the others.
I groaned inwardly, feeling the weight of everyone's gaze on me as I struggled to find the right words to respond.
Adam came to my defense with a playful grin.
"Don't embarrass my girl, Madds. She's innocent," he teased, settling down next to me and placing a comforting hand on my thigh.
I shot him a grateful glance, appreciating his support amidst the teasing.
"Yeah, we've noticed," Andrew chimed in, prompting a glare from me before my attention was drawn to the surprising sight of Andrew and Caroline carrying pizza and treats.
Adam's explanation clarified the situation, and I couldn't help but smile at the thoughtfulness of my friends. Last regular day minimum celebration.
As we indulged in the impromptu feast, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by their generosity.
"Why wasn't I informed? I could've brought something too," I exclaimed, feeling touched by their gesture.
"You don't have to bring anything when we're here for you," Allen reassured me, placing a glass in front of me.
The warmth of their friendship filled me with gratitude, reminding me of the importance of having such wonderful friends by my side.
****As the lunch hour drew to a close, talk turned to plans for the evening. Josh's question about my outfit for the night piqued my curiosity, but Adam's reaction hinted at something secretive. Before I could inquire further, Lisa revealed the reason behind tonight celebration-a birthday party for Allen's sister.
I blinked in surprise, feeling a pang of embarrassment for being out of the loop.
"And where's this party happening?" I asked, trying to catch up with the sudden influx of information.
"In the project Art room," Lisa answered, prompting me to repeat her words in confusion.
Adam stepped in to explain their reasoning, and though it seemed a bit far-fetched, I nodded along, grateful for their efforts to make Allen's sister feel welcome.
As we discussed further plans for the evening, I couldn't shake off the feeling of being left out of the loop.
"I'll head home early and pick up something less fancy but classy for the party. How about the rest of you?" I suggested, hoping to gauge everyone's thoughts on the matter.
Pela came to Adam's defense, claiming he was preoccupied with arranging the surprise treat.
"Treat?" I exclaimed, my voice rising with unexpected frustration. What exactly was going on?
Caroline intervened, suggesting a compromise on the dress code, and everyone seemed to agree. But my confusion persisted.
"What treat?" I demanded, turning my attention back to Adam. His explanation only added to my irritation, and I shot a glare at Pela, who seemed unfazed by the tension.
Realizing I was ruining the mood, I relented. "Alright, I'll leave by 1 p.m. In the meantime, I can help with preparations for the birthday party," I offered, trying to diffuse the tension.
Madds chimed in, offering to assist with blowing up balloons, and I agreed, grateful for the distraction.
