Welcome our guest appearance and the most awaited character 'Mason', yes, I was only thinking of him when I wrote this character. People asking me lot about Mason & Anna's relationship, you are about to find out soon.
P.S. heard today the news about Liam Payne and my heart goes out to all One Direction fans out there and his family. 💔 Dedicating his song to him. RIP Liam.
"Dad, you don’t have to apologize. Nobody has to. It was meant to happen, and now all we need to do is fix it. I know we can. Trust me, we can do this," I reassured him, my voice firm with determination.
Dad pulled me onto his lap, resting his head on my shoulder. We sat there quietly for a while, the only sound in the room the soft drip of water from the tap in the kitchen.
It was quiet but somehow comforting. I wished I could freeze this moment in time, just Dad and me together.
You never realize the value of things until they're gone.
I sighed softly, resting my head against his and gazing out the window at the neighboring house, where a man was busy ironing his clothes. Dad gently parted our heads and smiled at me.
"My strong bubs," he said affectionately, making me chuckle before I returned to my seat.
I eagerly bit into the pizza slice, savoring its delicious taste. Surprisingly, it was still hot, sparing me the need to reheat it in the microwave. Dad passed me the lasagne, and I smiled sheepishly at him. I'd been starving since morning.
After satisfying my hunger, I collected the empty plates and headed to the kitchen. Dad had already gone to his bedroom to pick out his outfit for tonight. I tried calling Mason, but his line was busy, so I sent him a text instead and waited for his reply. A few minutes later, my phone buzzed with his response. Perfect timing!
He was on his way, and we are then going to shop for Christmas Eve and buy the beautiful tree Dad hadn't gotten yet.
We needed to buy gifts for our families, and I had to pick something for Mason too. But I wasn't sure what to get him. Perfumes, wristwatches— I'd already given him plenty of those. This time, I wanted something different, but I was drawing a blank. Lost in thought, I climbed the stairs to see what Dad had picked for tonight.
The aroma of food still lingered throughout the house as I approached Dad's locked room. I knocked softly, but there was no answer. Frowning, I tried the door, and to my surprise, it came unlocked.
Peeking inside, I found the room empty, save for a bed, a dressing table, a window with a view of the city, a closet, and a small couch. The room was a mess, with clothes strewn about and the blanket lying askew.
"Boo!" Dad's sudden appearance startled me, and I jumped back in surprise, my heart racing.
"Dad! You scared me!" I exclaimed, placing a hand over my chest.
A mischievous grin spread across his face as he bent down to my level, holding out a square box wrapped in blue paper. My eyes widened in surprise as I looked at the gift in his hands.
"Happy Christmas, princess." he said, his eyes sparkling with warmth and affection.
"Take it!" Dad's voice drew my attention, but when I followed his gaze to the door, I saw someone standing there. My heart skipped a beat as I recognized Mason.
"Mason! How did you get in? You're here!" I exclaimed, rushing over to him. As I looked down at his hands, I noticed he was holding a gift wrapped in pink paper—so girly.
"Happy Christmas, Dumbo!" Mason teased, holding out the gift. I shot him a glare, hating it when he called me Dumbo. “I'm not dumb at all! I'm intelligent.”
Ignoring his laughter, I turned back to Dad, who was still smiling. Walking over to him, I took the gift from his hands and enveloped him in a tight hug.
"I love you, Dad. Thanks so much for this. I hardly expected it." I murmured gratefully.
Dad returned the hug, giving me his usual squeeze before ruffling my hair and placing a kiss on my forehead. He urged me to hurry as Mason was now waiting at door, and time was running short. It felt like I'd only been here for ten minutes, yet it was already 1 PM—four hours had flown by.
We made our way downstairs, and Mason and I headed for the front door while Dad stayed behind.
