Guys, this is a quick update on Thursday episode. I was on vacation and barely found time to publish. Thanks for 8k reads.
Enjoy!"Good Afternoon, Ms. Hussain. I'm your new stylist," she announced, her voice laced with professionalism. I raised an eyebrow in surprise-when had I last had a stylist? Nevertheless, I nodded, intrigued by the prospect of a wardrobe makeover.
With a sense of anticipation, I made my way to the bathroom-a cavernous space that dwarfed its English counterpart-ready to embrace the changes that awaited me.
Twenty minutes later, I descended the grand staircase to the living room, adorned in the dress chosen by the stylist.
The garment hugged my figure perfectly, but the excessive accessories felt out of place, prompting an instant refusal. Earrings and necklaces were never my style-I preferred simplicity over extravagance.
As I approached the living room, the murmur of voices grew louder, signaling the presence of guests. Slowly, I pushed open the door and stepped inside.
My mom's sisters sat gracefully on the couches, their warm smiles greeting me. I reciprocated their embraces, relishing the familiar scent of family.
Taking a seat beside my aunt, I observed as my mom's younger brother entered the room, his infectious grin lighting up his face. Despite his occasional teasing, I couldn't help but feel a sense of fondness for him.
With a hug and a kiss on the forehead, he greeted us warmly before settling on the sofa, inviting me to join him-an invitation I reluctantly accepted, under my mom's watchful gaze.
As more relatives poured into the room, the space became crowded with laughter and chatter, enveloping me in a whirlwind of familial warmth.
Amidst the chaos, I struggled to catch every conversation directed my way, but the overwhelming sense of belonging washed over me like a comforting embrace.
When my mom announced lunch, I eagerly followed the crowd to the dining room, my stomach rumbling in anticipation.
The aroma of various cuisines filled the air, enticing me as I approached the lavish spread laid out on the king-sized table. From traditional desi dishes to international delights, the array of delicacies promised a culinary delight.
Seated at the table, I wasted no time in sampling each dish, my hunger driving me to indulge in the exquisite flavors. Ignoring the curious glances directed my way, I focused on savoring each bite, oblivious to everything but the tantalizing feast before me.
Having finished my meal earlier than usual, I excused myself to wash my hands, only to be intercepted by my beloved cousin.
Her innocent gaze met mine, sparking a sense of nostalgia as memories of our childhood flooded back.
"What is it, little one?" I inquired, stooping down to her level as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
With a mischievous glint in her eyes, she shared her plans for the following day-a simple outing with loved ones, filled with burgers and movies.
Smiling at her enthusiasm, I lifted her in my arms, relishing the bond between us. As we returned to the living room, her anticipation mirrored my own, reminding me of the joy found in the simplest of moments shared with family.
"I'm in!" I declared, a grin spreading across my face.
Rim's eyes widened in excitement, her nod so vigorous it seemed her head might detach from her body.
"You're coming!?" she squealed, springing from my arms and nearly giving me a heart attack.
I chuckled, suppressing my concern as I planted a tender kiss on her rosy cheek.
With a joyful skip, Rim darted into the living room, spreading the news to our other cousins who sat with ice cream bowls in hand.
Their faces lit up instantly upon hearing my agreement, filling the room with contagious excitement.
Meanwhile, I slipped out through the glass door, drawn to the beckoning allure of the backyard-a sanctuary where new adventures awaited.
Rim followed closely behind, and together, we immersed ourselves in the simple pleasures of playful companionship and the soothing presence of our animal friends.
Later, as night descended and the day's festivities came to a close, I retreated to my room, the weight of recent events still heavy on my mind.
Alone with my thoughts, I found solace in the anticipation of the coming day-a day promised to be filled with laughter and cherished moments with loved ones.
As I lay on my bed, gazing up at the ceiling, a myriad of thoughts and memories flooded my mind, each one more haunting than the last. The hurt expression on Adam's face lingered in my thoughts, a painful reminder of the events from last night.
But amidst the turmoil of my emotions, there was a glimmer of solace-the simple joys shared with family, the laughter of my dear cousin, and the playful antics with the animals in the backyard.
Despite the weight of the past, I found comfort in the present moment, surrounded by love and familiarity.
Tomorrow held the promise of a new adventure, a day filled with burgers and movies, shared with those closest to my heart. And as I drifted off to sleep, I held onto that hope, allowing it to anchor me in the midst of uncertainty.
Little did I know, the journey ahead would be filled with twists and turns, challenges and triumphs, but for now, I relished in the warmth of family and the simple pleasures of life.
