Kylie West jogged down the steps, heading to the kitchen. her mother yelled for her to come down, aswell as jake and rosie

this was one of those times where rosie was staying night after night. this happened one time before and now it was happening again

the first time, kylie never minded because it was her best friend and she loved rosie... but now ? it kinda sucked, there was an awkward tension between the two that no one talked about

"whats up, mom ?" kylie asked as she rounded into the kitchen, being met with everyone else in the house, including pebbles.

shannon smiled at her daughter, she hadnt seen kylie since breakfast and it was noon. "hello my daughter ! would you like to come with us to the neumanns to celebrate fourth of july ?"

kylie nodded, "yeah for sure, it'll be nice to get out of the house today !" kylie agreed, knowing she'd rather get out of the house than rot in her room all day

jake squinted a little, "you sure its not because you wanna see my friend ?" he teased, though in his head he knew his question was serious

"he's my friend too, jake !" kylie reminded him, crossing her arms. "you're just mad he likes me more than you" she shrugged

her brother brother took a deep breath, it was very evident that kylies words were getting to him. rosie rubbed his arm, "its okay baby, just ignore her"

kylie raised her eyebrows, irritated simply by rosies presence "okay, im gonna go get ready. what time are we leaving ?" she directed her question to her parents, ruffling lukes hair as he walked by her

luke scrunched up, ducking his head away and going to the fridge. "can you get me a water, luke?" kylie asked quickly

before she knew it a water bottle was thrown at her, "thank you !" she smiled after catching it with ease. growing up with basketball brothers, she had very good reflexes

"we're gonna leave at 1:30 so go get ready, you ladies take forever" kylies dad joked, waving her away with a cheesy grin

kylie couldnt help smiling, her dads smile was contagious. "whatever !" she dragged out the word as she walked away
