Ax didn't mind the idea of meeting Kin's uncle at first. That was until it sunk in. And so the anxiety began.

"Ax, come on! We are almost there" fae sounded excited, it was cute. Ax liked when fae were happy.

Yet he couldn't shake the feeling of dread creeping up his spine. He mumbles out a meek "Do I really have to?" Almost too quiet for kin to hear.

But fae heard.

"Yes, of course. This is very important, ze has to meet you at least once" Kin responded looking back at Ax and taking its hand. "It will be okay, don't worry" fae smiles at him before turning back and continuing to lead him to his fate.

He was being a little dramatic, their "fate" being meeting Kin's most important family member, besides Koa. But he was far more scared than they thought he'd be.

He would put his fear aside though, for kin. They'd do anything for kin as long as they could see faer smile.

To which the meeting began spectacularly. Ax has felt judged before, being disliked by people was something he was used to. But the look ze were giving him made him look off to the side.

"Kel, this is Ax, my boyfriend. Ax this is my uncle, Kel!" Kin says with so much excitement Ax begins to fear fae might explode.

Kel doesn't respond for a moment, taking in the sight before zem. Looking ax up and down before looking at Kin with a raised eyebrow.

"This... was your choice?" ze asks quizzically, tilting zeir head a little. Kin just smiles and nods in response, so Kel continues "he's certainly a.. looker...?"

"They are arent they?" Kin responds, far quicker than Ax would've imagined fae would. Ax's face turns a little red and he looks a Kel again.

"Hi."

Ax gives himself a little mental pat on the back for being able to make out a singular word. At least him finally saying something made Kin a bit happier.

"not very talkative, are you?" Kel says, before looking Ax up and down again and saying "And a lot shorter than I expected." Now Ax would normally brush off comments made about his appearance, but they normally didn't go for the height.

What was so wrong about his height? He liked this height.

"Is that an issue?" Ax quips back before he can think. They were meant to make a good impression, not get defensive.

Kel shrugs and looks at Kin. Waiting for faer response.

"I don't think it's an issue, why should it be?"

"I guess it doesn't matter, I just didn't expect you to go for someone like..." Kel motions to Ax "That."

This feels far worse than the usual judging Ax gained, this felt scarier. This is Kin's family member after all, who's to say what would happen if ze disapproved?

Kin didn't seem too pleased about that statement either, faer expression blank, perhaps a bit displeased.

"Like what? He's nice. I like him." Kin says, a little force behind faer words. "They are very kind to me and strong, Ax is a very good person."

Ax smiles a little at Kin, god he loves this person.

Kel shrugs, again. Before saying "at least you're happy, kin. That's a good thing," Kin nods in response, holding onto Ax's hand. "and I guess, nice to meet you, Ax."

Ax lets out a breath he didn't even realise they were holding and responds, "Nice to meet you too..?"

Ax however has now gained a new fear, Kel.
