Kal was on edge, severely so.

They'd gotten Koa back, which was great. Amazing even. But Kalroth had seen Ar'eth. Kal had shot Ar'eth, it was a mess. Ar'eth wasn't done – it wouldn't be until it got Kal back.

But for now, they had koa.

And while Kal was thrilled to be back on Kel's ship, he already had a sour taste in his mouth. It's not like the crew could see him; he didn't want to be seen right now.

He'd given Koa his scarf back, and the tiefling had tried to refuse "Not until you get your own," he'd said, but Kal wanted him to have some form of normalcy after going through something as traumatizing as Ar'eth.

He'd happily shadow around if it meant Koa felt a little better. In fact, he was pretty happy to hover around Koa for the most part. Koa had been told about that, and he seemed alright just letting Kal be around him, even if he couldn't see him.

The issues raised the moment Koa stepped foot on the ship, Kin had run off to go get Kel, and Ax was staying pretty far back with Xavier – both not too happy to be back on the ship and Adriel wasn't with them anymore. The issue was when Vidalia showed his face, immediately coming up to Koa and grabbing onto the tieflings hands.

"babe, are you alright?!" the shifter admittedly sounded concerned, but Kal couldn't help but feel like Vidalia's heart was not in the right place, not to mention the use of the word babe. Koa looked uncomfortable, removing his hands from Vidalia's grasp and looking around a bit awkwardly.

The tiefling did grace the shifter with a response, "'m fine, Vi." Wow, Kal would be smiling if he could right now – Koa sounded so cold, it was a wonder how Vidalia hadn't got the hint, the shifter didn't however, instead choosing to move closer to Koa.

Vidalia seemed happy when he said, "I see ya got your scarf back, didn't like that – what was his name? That human that much did you?"

Now Koa looked less uncomfortable and more miffed, "that's not- "

"doesn't matter, though, he's no here is he? Don't know how you became...close.. with that wee shit" Kal laughed, wow jealous much? "but hey, at least your back now, babe."

Kal was telling himself not to step in, he didn't need to. But when Vidalia grabbed Koa's waist Kal couldn't help himself, he manifested beside Koa and pushed Vidalia back, "getting touchy there aren't we?" Kal says, and while he was smiling it was cold, "Keep yer hands to yerself, Vivi, Koa ain't said a damn thing 'bout letting ya touch 'im."

The shifter seemed pissed as if Kal had just committed the most heinous crime – that being Kal pushing him away from Koa.

"Kal, you don't hav'to," Koa said from behind him, putting a hand on Kal's shoulder which only seemed to fuel Vidalia's rage, "'s fine..." Koa continued, though he sounded slightly annoyed by the situation.

Vidalia honestly looked offended, "so you're still bouncin' around from person to person, Koa?" Kal did not like where this was going, Koa had just been through hell the tiefling did not need to be ridiculed, "you're still just a slut aren't you?"

Kal's reaction happened quicker than he could think, all he could really chalk it up to was his care for Koa, his own deep-seated issues, and his hatred for Vidalia and people like that damn shifter. His fist collided with Vidalia's jaw and Kal heard the disgustingly familiar crack sound, along with the shifter hitting the deck and yelling out in pain, everyone around had turned to see what exactly just happened.

Kal stared down at the shifter wide-eyed and backed up directly into Koa. No. No, he didn't mean to do that. He felt Koa's arms hold onto him, when did Kal start shaking?
