Her parents were nice, fair people, good parents. She just did not like that she was hardly allowed to leave the castle much less the kingdom.

Sending letters to her girlfriend secretly was growing troublesome the more her parents pestered her about finding a suitable male to marry.

Rosalina looked out her window and sighed, having not seen Caeiel in weeks she felt alone. Very alone.

She looked at the night sky and smiled, a plan forming in her head. She grabs her cloak and opens her window. Jumping and sliding down the side of the castle. She lands gracefully on her feet and jogs a little bit away into a secluded area.

She closes her eyes and a gust of wind envelopes her, when she opens her eyes again, she is in front of a small cabin, the lights inside where on despite the night that surrounds it.

Warm and inviting was the best way Rosalina could describe the place, she took her cloak off and carried it in her arms up to the door, she knocked and waited for a response.

Caeiel always took a while to open the door, considering she never had her cane nearby. Rosalina laughed a little to herself when she heard a quiet "Give me a moment!" before the door opened and Rosalina could see the tall Shadar-kai, with no cane and desperately holding onto the door.

"Caeiel... where's your cane...?" she asks as she helps her girlfriend walk back to her chair.

Caeiel sighs and shakes her head "I do not know... I swear I had it earlier" She trails off near the end and closes her eyes, trying her best to remember.

Rosalina walks around the cabin looking for the cane, finding it underneath Caeiel's bed.

"I found it, darling!" she says loud enough for Caeiel to hear, she quickly leaves the bedroom and walks back over to them, handing them the cane.

"Thank you, Rosa," Caeiel says sincerely, smiling at her. Rosalina blushes a little and waves her hand dismissively.

"Oh, it's alright, no worries" Her eyes widen a little when Caeiel takes her hand and kisses it which causes Rosalina's face to flush even more.

"You truly are such a benevolent princess" Caeiel jokes, smiling softly up at the vampire. Rosalina scoffs, rolls her eyes, and smiles at Caeiel.

"You're the worst, Caeiel"

Caeiel gasps jokingly and puts her hand over her heart "You wound me so, dear princess!"

"if you keep speaking like that I'll execute you" Rosalina huffs, however, she can't stop smiling so she can't even pretend to be serious. Caeiel laughs softly before standing up, her balance significantly better than before.

"Will you be staying the night?" they ask, using their free hand to brush her hair over one shoulder. Rosalina nods picking her cloak off the ground and hanging it on the coat rack.

"Is it alright if I do?"

"Of course, it is, when have I ever said no?"

Rosalina smiles and walks to Caeiel's bedroom "Do you still have the clothes I left here last time?" she calls out as she enters the room. Caeiel walks in not long after and finds the clothes in a crate under their bed.

"Thank you, my love," Rosalina says, kissing Caeiel's cheek.

"I've missed you" they mumble, Rosalina nods sadly but she leans up and kisses Caeiel.

As she pulls away, she says "I've missed you too, I'll try and visit more if I can, alright?"

Caeiel nods and sits on the bed, leaning her cane beside the bed, after Rosalina finishes changing out of her formal attire she lays down on the bed. Knowing Caeiel will wait until later to meditate she stays up talking with her.

She wished that this could be her life, she wanted to tell her parents about Caeiel.

But that would not be accepted by her kingdom.

Status is more important than love in their eyes, and she could not disagree more.
