Kal didn't mind being in the crows nest, especially if he was standing with Koa. He had spotted the tiefling up in the crows nest and decided to join him, and while they weren't really talking Koa had his arm wrapped around Kal, and he was humming quietly.

The sun was setting, It was pretty. This moment was pretty. At least Kal thought so, all moments with Koa were pretty to him.

Kal looked up at Koa when the tiefling stopped humming, letting silence fall between them for a short moment, "darlin? Ya alright?" Kal asked, smiling when Koa nodded and kissed him on the cheek.

"Yeah, babe, 'm just thinking" Koa replied, looking down at his boyfriend. He smiled so softly it made Kal's heart race, Koa was gorgeous. Kal smiled back before looking back at the sky.

"'bout what?"

"you," Koa said, still holding Kal close to him. Kal felt his face flush and he looked back up at Koa, he was about to say something – maybe a joke – but Koa continued what he was saying, and nothing could've prepared Kal for what Koa asked, "would you marry me?"

Kal froze up, staring at Koa with wide eyes. He never once thought this was a possibility – he wouldn't have been allowed to, he felt faint – this didn't feel real. Kal felt his hands start to shake, Koa wanted him. Koa wanted him.

"Kal...?" Koa sounded nervous, Kal hadn't responded – that wasn't good, Kal took a deep breath and held onto Koa's hands.

"Ya ain't jokin'?"

"no, I'm being serious"

"an' yer sure?"

"Kal, I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't-"

Kal hugged Koa, holding the tiefling tight. God, this was real, this was so very real. Kal nodded against Koa's chest, feeling tears well up in his eyes, "yeah.. yeah 'course ah'll marry ya," He heard Koa laugh softly, hugging him back – just as tight.

Kal felt somewhat embarrassed, he was crying into Koa's chest from a question. Albeit, Kal never thought someone would want to marry him – he never thought he could. Koa rubbed Kals back gently, when Kal had calmed himself down enough, he pulled back and looked up at Koa with a smile.

Koa was smiling at him, "do you want the ring?" Kal could almost die, he had a ring!?. Kal nodded, still shocked over this entire situation, Koa went into his pocket and pulled out the ring – God forbid Koa followed one tradition, it wasn't in a box. Kal didn't care, he was smiling so genuinely. Koa took Kal's left hand and slid the ring onto his finger. Kal was okay with this silence; he was so delighted.

Koa brought Kal's hand up to his face and kissed it, "I love you, Kal," he sounded so happy, his expression was so soft. Kal loved this man.

"ah- ah uh.. ah love ya, too." Kal managed out, this was a high he'd be riding for days. Koa leaned in, kissing Kal so lovingly, Kal's heart fluttered as he kissed Koa back, holding onto the tieflings face.

Kal grinned up at Koa when they broke apart, "ya wanna marry me!" He was thrilled.

"yes, I do"

"Ya say that on the day, treasure"

"I'm just getting my practice in early," Koa joked, they both couldn't stop smiling. This moment was perfect. Nothing would beat this moment – well maybe the wedding. That thought made Kal giddy, pulling Koa down and kissing him again.

The tiefling readily accepted the kiss, returning it just as excitedly.

Kal could not wait to marry his fiancé.
