It should've been okay when they got Koa out of the cell, it should've been okay when they got him away from that place.
But Koa looked terrified, shocked, and hurt. Kalroth doesn't like seeing people he cares for hurt. Koa had also been refusing to rest, which worried them all.
Koa would not be able to stay up much longer if he didn't take a break.
Kalroth decides to try and speak up, he begins with a quiet "Darlin'" before Koa cuts him off.
"Don't call me that." Koa snaps, looking at Kalroth dead in the eyes. "Not right now." Kalroth focused on his eyes as he spoke, he looked dazed.
Koa needed rest.
He needed it badly.
They all stood still, Kin and Ax were standing beside each other unsure of what to do. They wanted to keep moving but seeing how injured Koa was they realised they needed to break. Mikoo was behind them, the fearful look on the teen's face wasn't anything new.
Adriel stood off to the side, he couldn't get involved, He didn't know Koa.
"Can you walk?" Kalroth asks. Earning a glare from Kin but he didn't focus on that.
"Yes," Koa responded, he sounded worn. It hurt Kalroth's heart.
"then prove it," Kalroth says, forcing his voice steady. He knows what will happen the second Koa takes another few steps and he's prepared.
Koa huffs in response, taking a weary step forward. He was shaking before he took the second step.
Kin looks worried and is about to say something, but Ax shakes his head.
Koa's third step failed his fatigue and injuries finally catching up to him as his adrenaline wears off. Kalroth runs forward to catch Koa as he crumbles to the ground.
"I've gotcha, I've gotcha..." Kalroth mumbles as he lays Koa down on the ground and sighs.
The others run over, Kin pushes Kalroth away to make sure faer brother is okay, calling Mikoo over to heal the unconscious tiefling.
Ax keeps a hand on Kin's shoulder, glancing over to Kalroth.
Kalroth sits on the ground, his knees to his chest. He hardly looks up to see what's happening.
Koa had faced Ar'eth. It's not a thing the others would understand.
However, it wasn't something Koa would want Kalroth's help with anyway. The look on the tiefling's face said all Kalroth needed to know. Koa knew.
Kalroth didn't realise he'd begun to cry.
He didn't like crying.
He was crying over someone finding out about his mistakes, but it wasn't that no. It was because it was Koa.
