I open a big smile, I can't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to be welcomed into Jungkook's family, even if it's under false pretenses. "...Thank you, mom."

She smiles and urges us to sit. "Seat, seat."

We sit down, The two of us seat facing Mrs. Jeon while we place Munhee's carrier on a chair to bring closer to me. Jungkook's mom watches him with heart eyes. A soft smile playing on her lips.

"He's so serene." She says, watching the little one that's completely asleep for now.

"He is." I smile.

She turns her eyes to us, still smiling. "Did you have breakfast already?"

"No, not yet, mom." Jungkook answers.

"Should we order then? What do you guys want to eat?" she asks, grabbing the menu in her hands. Jungkook does the same and hands it to me. I open it and start checking the bagels. This bakery is very famous here in Seoul for their bagels. I searched them on naver and it indeed looked mouthwatering.

"Do you already know what you're going to order?" Jungkook asks me, getting closer so that he can also see the menu. He rotates his torso to the side and his arm goes around my chair as his face gets closer to mine. I just hope he's not as iclose as to not see how my cheeks got flustered.

I bite my lip and shake my head, "I'm thinking about ordering a bagel."

"Oh, that seems good." He points at the menu, "This cream cheese with
scallions is their signature~"

"Yeah, I was thinking about ordering that or the salmon sandwich bagel."

"Then let's order the two of them and share, what do you think?" He looks up from the menu to me and smiles.

"Huh, yeah, sure. Nice idea." I smile back.

He backs away and turns to his mother, "Did you choose already, mom? Can I go make the order?"

"Yeah, I think I'll get the traditional one with ginger and lemon tea." she says, looking up from the menu.

"Okay," he turns to me again, "What do you want to drink?"

"I think I'll just get an iced americano, you?"

"Me too." He gets up from the table, "Be right back."

As Jungkook goes to make our order, I'm left alone with Mrs. Jeon. I can't help but feel anxious since I don't know what kind of questions she might spurr my way. Jungkook and I had agreed on a story of our own, how we met and how we ended up getting "Pregnant" and all that. But that doesn't put my nerves aside in the slightest. I think that I'm probably more nervous than I was that one time I went to school on my exam's day without actually knowing the subject of the test. At least then I knew what to expect.

As we sit at the restaurant table, I feel a nervous knot forming in the pit of my stomach. Munhee is sleeping soundly in the carrier beside me, a silent observer to the impending conversation with my roommate's mother. I know we had met briefly before, but we never had really talked, especially not like this.

My fingers toy with the edge of my napkin as I search through my brain desperately for something to say. Mrs. Jeon's kind smile did little to ease my nerves, but I appreciate her effort to break the silence.

"It's a lovely evening, isn't it?" she says, her voice gentle and soothing.

I nod, grateful for the lifeline of conversation. "Yes, it is. The weather has been so nice lately," I reply, my words stumbling out awkwardly.

His mom nodded in agreement, her eyes momentarily drifting to the window. "Indeed, it's been a blessing to enjoy these moments," her voice tinged with nostalgia.
