Chapter 41: Haruto's Fate

August 30th, XXXX, At the Capital, inside the Council Building.
Haruto's fate is now decided by the council, where they will discuss what punishment awaits him from his crime of murder, after having a terrible history of being a thief and assassin in his childhood. The only reason Haruto had survived this long is thanks to the protection of Quentin Peterson, and the help of Quentin as well. Without Quentin here, Haruto's fate is in their hands for certain... Another issue is that, two Doron members have been chosen to partake in this meeting, since one works in the council and another is the Master of the Guild. Doron had been sneaking their way into the council steadily this whole time to bring the guilds into ruin and to gain power of the capital. So now, all of them together, decide what will happen to Haruto.

Council Leader> "Haruto Igarashi, one of the most dangerous assassin's of Aldrich who went into this career at the young age of 8, was originally going to be charged back then for theft, Murder and Non-negligent Manslaughter."

Yellow> "I do wonder... why wasn't he arrested back then?"

Council Member> "He was saved on the account of Quentin Peterson, who ironically enough, is a fugitive now for wearing a false identity to us all."

Yellow> "So Quentin did that huh... he must of had a powerful influence if he had the power to do that."

Dracona whispers to Yellow...
Dracona> "Do you see why we needed dirt on him? Of course we knew about this since it was ***** who raised those demons... We couldn't backup anything without first getting evidence. Just by eavesdropping on them and Abbadon working together, it was enough proof to go through with the plan."

Council Leader> "Anyways, now, a couple days ago, after building a solid reputation for yourself these past years, and not harming another civilian or stealing again, you decide to revert to your old ways. This time, you won't have your protection in hand for you."

Haruto> "It wasn't me I swear! I was set up! Why would I build up a reputation just to destroy it suddenly?! It doesn't make sense!"

Council Leader> "Perhaps you should ask that to yourself. There was no one else near that night, so it HAD to be you."

Haruto> "This was a set up! I have no intention of harming anyone! I was walking with Angelique and I went off on my own and saw the body there... and then in a blink of an eye, chains and blood were on my hands. Please, believe me!"

Dracona> "Who could of done it then? We don't know any magic user's who could pull such things. Itsuka could of, but she was the one dead."

Haruto> "...I don't know but... there's someone out there clearly who's coming after my reputation."

Yellow> "That's definitely not enough proof to let you by..."

Council Leader> "In that case it's decided then, you will have a  life sentence in the top security magic user prison of Aldrich."

Haruto felt defeated, he didn't have any evidence to prove he was framed and innocent in this. 
Haruto> "Dammit..."

Council Leader> "Haruto Igarashi, you are hearby, destined to a fate in pri-"

Yellow> "Wait a minute sir! I have a better idea!"

Council Leader> "And what could this be... this is how the council operates and the law, there cannot be a better alternative."

Yellow gets up and places her hand on his.
Yellow> "What if he becomes our dog? You know, helps us rid of the fugitives!"

Haruto> "What?! I would never hurt my friends!"

Yellow> "I'm sorry but you wouldn't want to be friends with fugitives, right?"

Haruto> "I'd rather be friends with them than any of you... Besides, its like the council said, this is how the law works."

Council Leader> "Hm... that's a wonderful idea!"

Haruto was in disbelief that the Council Leader agreed to her instantly. This is when he knew something was wrong with this all, but couldn't understand what was causing it.
Haruto> "W-wait but what about the law?"

Council Leader> "I am the one who decides, therefore, you will be our dog now."

Haruto> "This is crazy! This completely goes against your system sir! Don't you see it?!"

Council Leader> "I don't see anything wrong with this."

Yellow went down to Haruto and reassured him by putting her hand on his shoulder.
Yellow> "It's alright now, everything will be okay. I promise! They're all fugitives that deserve justice and we can save the world this way!"

Haruto> "Yeah... you're right... they are fugitives... we need to show them... justice."

Yellow> "See, it will be fine! You have us now! We are here to help you and take care of you."
Yellow smiles, gives him a kiss on the cheek and sits back down beside Dracona.

Council Leader> "It's decided then, we will have you as one of us now! Capture those fugitives, and bring us more powerful people!"

Haruto> "Yes sir."
