After the unsuccessful search for the monster, Joong, Pond, and the troops retreated back to their clan. Despite their efforts, the creature had vanished without a trace, leaving them with more questions than answers. Joong resumed his duties as Crown Prince, attending meetings and fulfilling his responsibilities alongside his father, the Dragon King.

However, Joong found his thoughts constantly drifting back to the mortal he had encountered in the forest. His mind was consumed by visions of the mortal's serene cottage and the kindness he had witnessed. Try as he might, Joong struggled to focus on his duties, his attention pulled inexorably towards thoughts of the mortal.

During meetings with other clan members, Joong's lack of focus became apparent. His mind would wander, his thoughts consumed by memories of the mortal and the tranquil beauty of his surroundings. Pond, ever vigilant, noticed Joong's distraction and would gently nudge him back to reality, reminding him of the importance of their discussions.

One morning, Joong stood before his father in the grand hall of their palace, his mind weighed down by the burden of his secret. The Dragon King, observing his son's troubled demeanor, furrowed his brow in concern.

"Joong, you seem out of focus these past few days," the Dragon King remarked, his voice tinged with worry. "What seems to be the problem?"

Joong hesitated, his heart heavy with the weight of his deception. He couldn't tell his father the truth, knowing the consequences it could bring.

"I am sorry, Father," Joong replied, forcing a smile to mask his inner turmoil. "I am just tired from the recent events and the demands of my duties. Please forgive my lack of focus."

It was a lie, and Joong felt a pang of guilt at deceiving his father. But he couldn't risk revealing the truth, not when their worlds were on the brink of collision.

The Dragon King studied Joong for a moment, his gaze piercing and wise. Sensing his son's distress, he reached out and placed a reassuring hand on Joong's shoulder.

"Take some time to rest, my son," the Dragon King said softly. "Your well-being is paramount. We can manage without you for a while."

Joong nodded gratefully, grateful for his father's understanding. As he left the grand hall, his mind raced with thoughts of the mortal and the fragile balance between their worlds.
