The moon cast a serene glow over the cottage, but inside, Daonuea was tossing and turning in Joong's embrace. His face contorted with fear, and soon he found himself submerged in a vivid, horrifying nightmare.
The scene was chaotic. Daonuea stood in the midst of a battlefield, surrounded by pools of blood and countless bodies lying in grotesque, twisted forms. The air was thick with the stench of death, and the sky above was an ominous shade of red. In the distance, he saw warriors clashing, their cries of agony and fury echoing in his ears.
He moved forward, his steps slow and hesitant. Each step revealed more of the gruesome scene—faces he did not recognize but felt an inexplicable connection to. Among the chaos, he spotted nine ethereal tails, glowing with a blue, luminous light, swaying with a mesmerizing yet terrifying rhythm. The sight filled him with a sense of familiarity and dread.
As he continued to walk, the battlefield transformed. He was now in an unknown place, surrounded by foxes of various sizes and colors. They seemed to be mourning, their howls and cries resonating with his own internal anguish. Their eyes, filled with sorrow and despair, seemed to bore into his soul, seeking something from him, something he couldn't comprehend.
The vision intensified, and Daonuea felt an overwhelming sense of loss and confusion. He tried to speak, to ask what was happening, but no words came out. The foxes circled around him, their mournful cries growing louder, filling his mind with unbearable sorrow.
Suddenly, everything went black, and Daonuea felt himself falling into an abyss, the cries of the foxes still ringing in his ears.
Joong, sleeping soundly beside Daonuea, suddenly sensed his distress. He woke up to find Daonuea thrashing and mumbling incoherently. Joong gently shook him, trying to pull him out of the nightmare.
Joong: "Daonuea, wake up. It's just a dream. Wake up!"
Daonuea's eyes flew open, and he let out a terrified scream. He was drenched in sweat, tears streaming down his face. Joong quickly pulled him into a tight hug, coaxing him with soothing words.
Joong: "Shh, it's okay. You're safe. It was just a bad dream."
Daonuea: "It was so real, Joong. The blood, the foxes... I was so scared."
Joong held him tighter, rubbing soothing circles on his back. He knew the flower was the cause of this nightmare but couldn't reveal it to Daonuea.
Joong: "It's all right now. You're here with me. Just close your eyes and try to sleep again."
Daonuea, still trembling, nodded and closed his eyes. Joong whispered a sleeping spell, ensuring Daonuea would have a peaceful rest. Once Daonuea's breathing steadied, Joong carefully laid him back down and got up.
