The one who Cooks

The living room was cool, a stark comparison to the brutal temperatures outside. Nico droned over to a couch and threw himself down, falling into the realm of Hypnos immediately. Elara collapsed into an armchair opposite the son of Hades, and (Y/N) sat next to her in another seat. Eurytion had left them, probably off to get Geryon. Orthus had bounded off into the kitchen, the son of Asclepius could hear him lapping water from a dish. Looking around, the place hadn't changed much. It looked like any house you might find in Texas, resembling a plantation house from the 1800s. The layout was open, a kitchen counter top island covered in meat, from sticky ribs to boiled chicken wings. He'd try and nab some for Elara later. It was only a few minutes into resting when a huge figure came down the stairs.

"Welcome back to the ranch, son of Asclepius!" boomed Geryon.

(Y/N) stood up and offered a hand, to which the giant shook eagerly.

"It's been a while, old friend. How's business been?"

"Oh, it's been positively booming! Customers are flooding in, I've never seen so much profit! Operation is huge, if you want to join in on the fun?"

"I'm afraid I'll have to say no sorry, since we're only passing," he gestured to the sleeping forms of Nico and Elara behind him.

Unbeknownst to (Y/N), Geryon's eyes lit up light bulbs at the sight of Nico.

"So, is it okay if we crash here for a day?" asked the son of Asclepius, rubbing his hands together.

"Of course, any time you need for as long as you need."

"Thanks... a lot... Geryon..." he said, slumping back down on the chair, unconscious.

Geryon smiled wickedly at three, and made his way off to make an important IM message.

When the three awoke, (Y/N)s body clock told him it was roughly morning. He stretched, gently shaking Elara awake but leaving Nico to slumber. He looked so cute sleeping, and the boy needed more rest anyway. The couple made their way over to the kitchen, where the son of Asclepius rummaged through his stuff and Elara gnawed on a rack of ribs. (Y/N) pulled out a bag of blood and tossed it over to the dracaena, who caught it with one hand.

"So," said (Y/N), tucking into some brisket, "what do you think of the labyrinth so far?"

"It'sssssss interesssssting for ssssssure. It doesssssn't have much of an effect on my mind, but I do feel a little queassssssy every now and then."

"Probably due to the copious amounts of magic circling around this place. My only concerns then are for the little man. He's too young to be out here alone, with Minos none the less. Who knows where the horrible old king's gone, but he's out there, waiting for his moment to swoop in."

Elara nodded, licking blood off of her lips.

"Ssssso, can you tell me anything elsssssse about thissssss Roman camp? If it'ssssss sssssecret that'ssssss fine, don't feel presssssured..."

"Oh no, I trust you and I'm as long as you don't tell anyone I don't see why not." He adjusted himself on his seat, turning to crack his back. "It's a wonderful place full of new and powerful people. They have me as a temporary leader, but the true ones with the peoples hearts are their praetors, Abel and Ella. Children of Arcus and Venus, who in Greek terms are Iris and Venus. They're good people with hearts in the right places, driven by their will to thrive. A few others that have caught my attention is the son and Jupiter and an unknown, as well as the daughter of Bellona and Pluto. Those are Ares, Zeus and Hades, Bellona having no Greek form. Jason, son of Jupiter, is proud, and rightfully so. His mastery of lightning and weapons gives me a run for my money on a bad day. Frank, son of... some god we don't yet know, is strong and persistent. He isn't the brightest, but just like Sisyphus he'll keep going until the job is done. Hazel, daughter of Pluto, is a 'unique' case to put it lightly. She posses great yet untapped potential, held back by her own grief she must overcome alone. Finally, there's Reyna, daughter of Bellona. I see great leadership within her, and I hope she one day takes the title of praetor. I met her on the isle of Circe's resort back in the sea of monsters, and she is a good soul, the ideal Roman."
