"Morning sleepy head," whispered a voice in the ear of (Y/N).
He groaned as he sat up, but smiled pleasantly when he remembered who was next to him.
"Good morning to you too," he responded, kissing Bellona. He stretched out, the early Helios warmly tickling his back. As he stretched, he listened out for something, or someone, in particular. But the house remained silent.
"It appears our little Amazon is still asleep," he mused, "Anything you want to get up to whilst we have some time to ourselves?"
The goddess of war looked up at him, then down at herself. "Perhaps a spar. I'd hate myself if I got rusty with a blade."
(Y/N) frowned. "I doubt we can get rusty as such things. But sure why not."
It wasn't long until the two were out in their garden, armour on and weapons drawn. (Y/N) wore his armour, which he had Hephaestus reforge. It was covered in tales of his adventures over the years, from the forests of Lakonia to the frozen mountains of the Alps.
He had decided to use a basic sword, as had Bellona. A test of pure skill and swordsmanship. The hilt was bound with leather and his blade crafted of celestial bronze. His wife had the same sword, but hers blade imperial gold.
They circled each other for a while, casual conversation at first. However, it wasn't long until the more serious topic came along, one he knew they had to talk about. Bellona probably offered a spar just so they could talk out of the house.
"So, do you think Kassandra really is as of the fates spoke? To bring peace between pantheons? End millennia of conflict?"
"She is our child," said (Y/N), sharpening his sword against his forearm armour. "But in all seriousness, she had potential. She just needs training, and she'll probably have a few hundred years or so before she's needed."
In the blink of an eye Bellona was on him, her sword inches from his neck before he blocked. He grinned at her.
"She gets her wild side from you," he said.
"And her voice of reason from you," she complimented, before drawing her sword back and going for a stab at his stomach.
He parried once again, and the two began a rapid dance around their garden. The sound of colliding metal could be heard by anyone nearby. (Y/N)s feet moved rapidly as he slowly lost ground. It was just like when he and Artemis fought Atlas, rapid movement. They were both imbuing their speed and strength with godly power to hit harder and dodge faster.
Despite them both moving incomprehensibly fast, the son of Asclepius could still make conversation.
"What do you suppose we do about her training?I've got experience training demi-gods but I feel like she needs better than that since she's on another level."
"Perhaps a fellow god will do so then? I'm sure I could put in a good word to Mars."
"Athena would be a better option out of those two, Ares wouldn't teach her anything but use her as a training dummy."
"Well, do you have any other ideas?"
"I do actually. The hunters of Artemis."
Their fighting ceased immediately, Bellona taking a step back.
"Really? You know Diana will try and convince her to join her little pack permanently, right?"
(Y/N) practically teleported in front of her as he went for a feint on her, but she recognised his trick and parried with ease, swiping at his shoulder. He dodged, but barely. Whilst he had more experience than her, she would always have the edge due to being an actual goddess of war. The god of healing wouldn't be the best fighter there was.
