1 year later...
As I woke up, I felt the familiar presence of my boyfriend next to me.
"Morning, doll." I heard him say as I stretched.
I smiled as I opened my eyes.
My eyed landed on Bucky's sleepy blue eyes.
"Good morning, baby." I said as I pecked his lips. "Are you ready for today?"
"No." He whined as he pressed me closer towards him. "I don't want to get up."
That morning stubbornness made me chuckle.
"Neither do I." I said as I caressed his cheek. "But we promised Shuri you would be on time today. You know, unlike the last 3 days."
"You spent two weeks away!" He said dramatically.
"Still." I chuckled as his dramatic behavior. "Don't forget she's doing you a favor by trying out new metallic arms for you."
"I know, I know." He sighed as he looked at me. "I just love you so much." He said as he squeezed my cheeks, making me look like Flounder from The Little Mermaid.
I shooed his hand away. "I love you too." I said before kissing his nose softly. "But we gotta go. Come on." I said as I tried to leave his grasp.
"I'm sure Shuri will understand." He insisted.
"Easy for you to say!" I said almost offended as I managed to sit up. "She says you're always late because of me."
"Well..." He said sitting up. "She's not wrong."
"Wha- yes she is! You're the lazy ass here." I said with a pout.
He laughed adoringly at my face.
"You're so cute." He said pecking my lips. "Which is why it's always so difficult to leave."
"I don't care." I said as I got up. "Come on, get your ass up, old man."
He looked up at me with a smirk.
That was all I needed to say to trigger him.
Bucky got up, but was quick to get his face close to mine.
"Old man, huh?" He asked amused. "Need me to show you again what this old man can do?"
I couldn't help but blush like crazy.
Before I could answer, my phone rang.
Tony.
"Does he always need to interrupt?" He asked me annoyed. "Weren't you with him 4 days ago?"
"It might he serious." I said as I grabbed my phone.
"Mari. Hi. Thank God you picked up." He said urgently.
"Hey, Tony." I said worriedly, which made Bucky send me an odd look. "Everything okay?"
"No. Everything not okay. We need you."
"Wh-what's wrong? Why do you need me? Who's 'we?'" I asked confused.
"We need you to bring back the Avengers." He sighed.
Bucky and I looked at each other wide eyed.
We both knew that if Tony came calling me to bring the Avengers back, it meant there we were all in big trouble.
"I'll be there as soon as I can. Text me everything I need to know." I told him.
"Okay, I will." He said relieved. "Thank y-" He was interrupted by a background noise.
