When I come to, I notice that night had come. I look around and see that I'm on a bed. I don't recognize it as my room and frown. I see two figures talking on the balcony and I'm surprised it's Milo and Lady Warren.

I get out of the bed, grabbing a smaller blanket to wrap around my body from the night cold. I walk to them and I can hear them from the open door. They seem to be in an argument of some sort.

"What happened?" I call out, breaking the fight. They both look to me. Lady Warrens runs to my side and asks me if I'm okay.

"Yes, I'm better but what happened?" I ask again.

"You and another lady were poisoned by Lady Perks. You called for me with the bracelet and I found you hallucinating in a random hallway. I did a magical health scan and found you were poisoned. I gave you the antidote, along with the other lady, and now you're awake. Let me do another scan." Milo sighs, physically pushing Lady Warrens away. I knew Milo had no respect for nobles, but to push a Lady is baffling.

He puts his hands in front of me and I see his eyes glaze over as he assesses my condition.

"Excuse you, you should never put your hands on a woman." Lady Warren huffs. "I'll have you removed from my estate in a second."

"I'll be leaving with Master Solon as soon as I know she is capable of travel. Trust me when I say I don't want to stay here with you." He scoffs.

"I am fine for travel." I sigh, hoping to end this conversation.

"You were just poisoned."

"You still haven't accounted for the fact you laid hands on me!" Lady Warrens grabs his arms and forces him to look at her. My eyes widen, seeing her acting so bold against him. She is usually poised and acts calmly. However, Milo does have a habit of making people not like him.

"So," Milo shrugs and looks down at her. "What are you going to do?"

"I will tell my father who-"

"Why should I care about an old man?" Milo scoffs and looks to me. I'm horrified with this conversation and wordlessly I make it known to him by throwing daggers with my eyes. "I'll take you home now."

"What-"

"Please apologize to Lady Warrens." I glare at him. I need her to still be on my side. He rolls his eyes and looks back at her.

"Who's Lady Warrens again?" He asks, scratching his ear. I roll my eyes, knowing he's playing an infuriating game right now.

"I am the only daughter of Duke Warrens and the niece of the Emperor. You need to respect me." She huffs, clearly disturbed to meet a man like Milo.

"But what have you done? Besides being born into your name, what have you done for me to know about you?" Milo asks.

"It's hard to make a name of yourself as a woman and-"

"Look at Master Solon, Countess Germaine, Lady Dranne, and Baroness Liesik. They're all woman who've made themselves stand out in society, they are the people I care to know. So I'll ask again, what have you done for me to know about? Besides having my best Master be poisoned in your estate?"

She cant say anything, Milo has put her in her place of being no one of importance. I can't think of anything to say to help her. He sighs and grabs my waist. "I'll take you home now. In the morning, I'll send a mage to get a formal report. Goodnight."

With a blink, I feel my body drop and I'm teleported into my room. I hear a scream and see my maid Anna had been in the process of cleaning up the food that must have been brought for dinner but never eaten. She must've been terrified of our presence, evident by the broken glass on the floor.
