SIX MONTHS HAD PASSED AND Valentina still hadn't found anyone for Klaus. She tried hiding it but she was feeling frustrated at the situation. The last girl she tried to match Klaus with, ended up as his lunch and she had been sure they were perfect for each other. She was sitting at a cafe table watching over Klaus who was inside the opposite building, an art gallery.

"Ready to give up?" Kol asked from next to her. He had appeared in her office six months ago and he was still there. Two of them still had no idea what had happened or what had caused him to be linked to her. They realized that he was able to walk off for three to four hours before popping back to wherever she was.

The last thing he remembered was being daggered by his brother and then it had been nothing but darkness. Until Valentina went to touch his grimoire and he popped straight into her office.

So now Valentina had a ghost following her anywhere she went. And to her disappointment, he didn't agree to help her match his brother. Valentina did understand his reasoning, there was so much hurt and pain between the Mikaelson siblings, and Valentina knew that she couldn't fix it just like that.

"Shut up," she whispered back. "I have never failed and I won't." Luckily you weren't able to see Cupids if they didn't want to be seen, so Valentina didn't look like she was talking to herself. Rather people would only see an empty table where two of them sat.

"I have been telling you this for weeks. My brother isn't capable of love," Kol replied. "You're a romantic at heart, Valentina," he remarked, a hint of amusement in his voice. "But even you must see that some souls are beyond redemption."

Valentina met Kol's gaze with unwavering determination, her eyes blazing with conviction. "I refuse to believe that," she declared, her voice tinged with passion. "Everyone deserves a chance at love, Kol, even Klaus. And I won't rest until I've done everything in my power to help him find it."

"Have I told you how adorable you look when you get mad, little cupid?" he asked with a flirtatious smile. His playful charm and flirtatious banter sent a rush of warmth to Valentina's cheeks, igniting a blush that betrayed her otherwise composed demeanor. Despite her expertise as Cupid's Matchmaking Office's finest matchmaker, Valentina found herself uncharacteristically flustered in the presence of Kol's charismatic spirit. For all her skill in orchestrating the romances of others, she found herself navigating uncharted territory when it came to matters of her own heart.

"Shut up," she whispered and tried to hide behind her hair so Kol didn't see the reaction she had to his words. Kol's grin widened at her response, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Do you ever take a day off?" Kol asked.

"721 484 days ago," she replied. "And that's only because my department was shut down for construction and they gave us a free day."
