This had been one of the hardest cases for Valentina. Stefan Salvatore. His story was tragic. Fell in love with the same woman as his brother which eventually ended up in the deaths of both of the brothers. Stefan had been assigned to another cupid but after he was turned into a vampire, his case was handed to Valentina. Her having years of experience matching vampires.

As Valentina delved into the intricate details of Stefan Salvatore's life, one thing was clear. Guilt was a companion of him. Guilt for getting Katherine captured and guilt for killing his own father.

And then there was the guilt for making his brother drink blood and finish his transformation. Damon initially refused, but Stefan would not relent, saying he couldn't let him die. Eventually, Damon drank the blood and told Stefan that he was right, that it felt like a whole new world being a vampire. Stefan hoped this meant they could be brothers and companions together forever, but instead, Damon promised Stefan that he would make Stefan's life miserable for the rest of eternity.

Weeks had passed and Stefan still lacked control of his bloodlust. He went on a rampage, killing members of the Founding Families. Stefan continued on a blood-drinking bender to try to make the guilt and pain of what he had done to Damon and his father go away. He compelled young women to go home with him, so he could toy with them and feed on their blood.

It didn't take long for Valentina to realize that Stefan Salvatore was a ripper. They were known for their bloodlust, and not being able to stop drinking. They enjoyed abusing, dispatching, and mutilating their victims and most of them turned off their humanity, therefore simply not caring about their actions.

The tales of his atrocities sent shivers down her spine, reminding her of the countless rippers she had encountered throughout her millennia-long existence. Their propensity for violence and cruelty made them among the most challenging cases she had ever faced. Valentina refused to give up hope. Deep down, she sensed a glimmer of humanity within Stefan—a flicker of light struggling to break free from the shadows that threatened to consume him whole.

Valentina's heart sank as she observed Stefan's descent into darkness, his insatiable thirst for blood driving him to feed on the innocent victims who lay helpless in his wake. With each passing moment, her frustration grew, a sense of helplessness gnawing at her soul as she watched him succumb to the darkest impulses that lurked within him.

She watched in astonishment as he stopped in his tracks, his senses tingling with a newfound awareness as if drawn by an unseen force. And then, with a sense of purpose burning in his eyes, he made his way towards a nearby camp where the war wounded lay.
