The days progressed with surprising uneventfulness, with the weather growing colder and colder as they passed.

It was surprisingly uneventful in the manor, as the servants carried on their usual duties and Pluto stood out of the way (for the most part) and so far, and Ciel went about his usual routine of homeschooling, going out to town for errands and of course having his teatime.

During this apparent "downtime," you took this opportunity to try and read some of the books Ciel had out often for studying to pass the time during the slower days. Sometimes it was history, other times it was the usual dark, gothic literature.

While the days may be admittedly boring, it was a welcomed change from the last few days.

If anything, you only sensed there was something off in the atmosphere whenever you were around Ciel and/or Sebastian. They may be able to hide their expressions, but you feel their eyes burn into you whenever your back is turned, especially when you'd read one of Ciel's older history and literature books. It felt off, but you didn't have the heart to question what the deal was.

One morning, you awoke to a chill against your back, as you realized that you had fallen asleep on the study's windowsill.

Strange... usually I awaken in master's room when this happens...

You pushed yourself up with yawn and stretch before turning to look out the window.

To your surprise, the yard was coating in a layer of white. Snow!

For the first time in a while, you felt a flare of excitement in your chest, the type of excitement a child would feel upon seeing snow for the first time.

"Good morning, Milady."

Your ear twitched and you turned to find Sebastian standing in the study's doorway, looking smooth as usual.

"I hope you don't think I'd forgotten you here," he walked up to you, taking a moment to scritch your head. "You looked so peaceful, and master didn't want to disrupt you.

"That's fine." You purred, leaning into his touch, before letting him pick you up.

"Come along, then. Once you're done with breakfast, we are going to an event."

"Yeah?" You seemed surprised.

"Yes... but bear in mind, master has ordered me to dress you more... appropriately for this occasion."

Sir, is this really outfit necessary? "Mreow?" You asked, shuffling a bit to maintain balance on master's shoulder.

"Of course, dear." Ciel muttered to you. "You might be covered in fur, but this is a precaution. Last thing I need is for you to somehow get frost bitten on your ears or paws."

Very well, sir

....Very well, sir. "Meow." You replied softly. You wanted to tell him that you were not in fact cold, and that you had grown used to such temperatures from your time on the streets, but you knew better than to try and argue with him in public. Especially in such a large get together.
