after reaching the bedroom and literally tearing off your ridiculous dress, were curled up in your large cat bed, pouting and rethinking of today's events over and over again. stupid... you thought as you sat up. you then thought about the precious ring you couldn't save. you sulked at the thought. it's my fault... I should have timed that jump correctly... you sighed as you curled up into a tight ball. I could have saved it... I know I could have. the clutches of guilt start to eat at you. now ciel has nothing of his family left.... you raise your head and mewled weakly. you absentmindedly start chewing at the cloth that wrapped around your busted leg. either it was the stress or the ever growing pains in your foreleg, but you just started to chew off your leg wrap. that is, until you heard a click at the door. "... (name)." called ciel's voice. Uh oh. you lowered your head and curled up tightly, burying your face in your tail. you couldn't bear to look at him. not after you failed him twice today. you feel your stomach tighten at hearing his footsteps walk over in front of your bed. "look at me when I'm talking to you." you hear him order. his voice was right over your head. you slowly uncurl yourself and gaze up at him.
he looked a cross between disappointment and concern. "why did you walk out on the ball like that? that isn't like you." he asked, raising his eyebrow. your eyes darted back and forth as your mouth opened. your eyes then fell onto his thumb from where that ring resided. your eyes clouded in guilt once more. I'm so sorry... "rrrrreaw..." you whimper. his eyes look flicker from you to his thumb for a brief moment before he realized what you were feeling. "it wasn't your fault, my dear." he reassured, giving a thin smirk. "with or without that old ring, I'm still head of the Phantomhive Manor." he scooped you up and walked over to his bed. "please don't take today's events too hard."
when he placed you on his bed, he saw your partially chewed bandages. he runs his finger along the length of your leg. you flinched as his finger ran over the place where the bone was dislocated. "that reminds me..." he muttered. soon, sebastian entered. "sebastian, do you have that item?" asked ciel, turning to face the demon. sebastian huffed and took out something wrapped in a piece of cloth. "it wasn't an easy task.. but here it is." ciel nodded and took it. "this'll make things easier to get around." he said, unwrapping it.
in his hands was a sparkling, silver leg brace with the carving of the Phantomhive crest in both sides. "try it on, I want to see if it fits." he said, opening the brace. slowly, he lifted your damaged leg and placed it in the brace making you flinch at the cold of the metal. then he carefully closed the brace and secured the latches. it's actually very comfortable once you get past the coldness. fits like a mitten! "puurrow." you purred, earning a smile of approval from ciel. "excellent. try putting some weight on it." he suggested, picking you up and placing you on the ground. it feels nice. not to clunky. you walk around a little to test it's fluidity. the pain was there, but it was barely noticeable. yes, very good movements indeed. you give him a nod of approval and he picks you back up and places you in your bed and removes the brace carefully and sets it on his nightstand.
as you curled up as sebastian dressed Ciel in his nightwear, you already began to feel drowsy. they were discussing something about his past and their contract, but you were starting to lose focus in their words as you shut your eyes and drifted into sleep.
