❝ my bedsheets are ablaze, i've screamed his name. ❞

The wedding party ended about a half hour ago. It's now around five in the morning. Boy do these Lebanese people know how to party and keep the night alive.

They probably would've kept going if they hadn't received noise complaints from other people in the hotel.

Olive stayed behind, helping Nour out a little with her stuff. She told me to wait for her at the pool. So here I am, sitting on the edge of the pond.

My heart is beating faster than the speed of light, believe it or not. I'm excited and nervous. This whole week, Olive has been hinting that tonight would be the night I finally get to feel her again.

Waiting, I stare into the pool, glistening under the soft glow of submerged lights, casting a shimmering reflection on its surface.

Shadows dance along the edges, and the surrounding area is filled with lights. The air has turned a little cooler and still carrying the faint scent of chlorine.

I hear footsteps and turn around to make sure it's the person I'm expecting. It is not. However, she's no stranger.

Isabel walks over, holding her heels in her left hand, wearing her, of course, purple dress.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, as she takes a seat next to me, and her short dress permitting her to place her legs in the water.

"I could ask you the same." She doesn't answer, looking over at me.

"I'm waiting for Liv." I answer, unlike her. She gives me a slight smile.

Isabel used to be the only woman whose smile I treasured. Now, I've got Olive. Whose smile is worth millions.

"You like her." She points out. I think at this point, it's gone further than like.

I was never the romantic sibling, it has always been and always will be Isabel. Inside, Isa is the biggest hopeless romantic. Ever since she was a little a girl.

She never liked my sleeping around attitude. She'd always tell me to at least try going on one date. I'd always refuse.

"I do." I concur, chuckling a little at the thought of it. I watch as her face gets enlightened with a smile too. All she ever wanted was for me to stop sleeping around. Yet, I still didn't expect her to encourage this, with her own best friend.

Her smile slowly fades though. "I really hope it stays like this." She sighs, thinking of the possibility that I might screw it up.

"I-" I close my mouth when I see Liv walking in. My beautiful, beautiful Liv.

She has a questioning look on her face as she sees Isa here.

"I'm gonna leave you two alone." She tells. She stands up, kisses the top of my head goodnight before she passes by her best friend, kissing her cheek too, making her way out.

I notice she's changed her dress, now wearing one more simple, not wedding-ish at all. She stands next to me and I look up at her.

She puts her hand out for me to take as a help to stand. "Come on, banana boy. I haven't changed my underwear for nothing."

Hearing those words, I immediately take her hand, no hesitation and stand up.
