The van stopped at a point for a while for everyone to be freshened up. Everyone got up from their respective seats and went outside from some fresh air.
Sidharth and Samaira too went out leaving a downhearted Shehnaaz behind who was getting up to go out too.
Shehnaaz without uttering a single word went out and sat on a cliff to enjoy the weather. She still had her airpods on.
She saw Sidharth who was helping Samaira basically hugging her , because she was weak and sick.
Shehnaaz's smile vanished, but she acted like it didn't bother her. Every moment felt heavy for her, unable to escape the closeness around her. All she wished for was to run away, to a place where nobody could criticize her, where she could be alone with herself, away from everyone.
"Shehnaaz" called Aarav from a distance.
But Shehnaaz had her airpods on, so she didn't hear anything.
Aarav went near her and said, " Oye tu yahan hai ?Mai kabse doondh raha tha teko.. Chal dopeher hogayi hai aur baatish hone wlai hai , isse phele ki baarish ho ham kuch kha lete haina , udhar ek daba hai chal sab wahi jaa rahe hai."
"Nahi, mujhe bhook nahi hai Aarav tum log jaoo, mere paas kuch homemade snacks hai mai wahi van mei khalungi , tum log jao." said Shehnaaz politely refusing him.
"Aacha ,phir thik hai ." said Aarav and went towards the dhaba to have something.
Samaira and her friends noticed Shehnaaz sitting peacefully, and it angered them. They couldn't understand how she could be so calm around them. So, Samaira silently signaled to her friends to push Shehnaaz off the cliff, making it look like an accident. They planned it carefully to make sure nobody suspected them. They were determined to make Shehnaaz disappear without anyone knowing what they had done.
While everyone was at the dhaba eating, one of Samaira's mean friends sneaked up behind Shehnaaz, who was lost in her music with her AirPods. Shehnaaz didn't notice anyone approaching. With a sudden push, the girl sent Shehnaaz tumbling off the cliff.
In a panic, the girl ran away, overwhelmed by fear and guilt. Fortunately, Shehnaaz caught hold of a large stone and hung on for dear life.
"Bachaaoo, bachaooooo , koi haiiii???Sidharthhhhhhhh, Sidharthhhhhh" Shehnaaz kept calling him , but everyone was far away from the cliff and no one heard her voice , whereas Sidharth felt a void as if something wrong happened .
He suddenly went outside to grab some air and realised Shehnaaz was not there with them .So, he went to search for her in her absence.
" Kya gayi ye ladki? Chup chap kahne mei nahi aa sakti ? Nakhre dikhane hain isko , aabhi bhook lagegi phir dekhna ." murmured Sidharth and suddenly realised,"Mai uski itni chinta kyun kar raha hoon , joh usne kiya after that I shouldn't be worrying about her , jo bhi kare , jahan bhi rahe mujhe kya?" and instantly began to go towards teh dhaba but again thought, " Nahi, nahi , kaafi time se sikhi nahi hai ek baar dekh leta hoon.Maan ko shanti mil jayegi."
Sidharth went on to search for Shehnaaz.He remembered lastly he saw Shehnaaz talking to Aarav near the cliff.
So, he went towards the direction but no one was there. " Arey! Koi bhi toh nahi hai yahan. Aabhi toh yahin thi, aabhi kahan gayi?" said Sidharth confused.
" Shehnaaz, Shehnaaz" he called Shehnaaz's name many times but no one answered.
On the other hand, Shehnaaz was completely exhausted hanging over the stone . She couldn't speak further , all her energy was drained out. She didn't hear Sidharth calling as the airpods were still on because she couldn't hang on one hand ,so she couldn't remove her airpods off.
"Sayad van mei hogi" thought Sidharth and ran off her look for her inside the van but to his surprise noone was there.
He again ran towards the cliff area shouting,"Shehnaaz, Shehnaaz" where he didn't see the edge of the cliff and slipped over a stone but didn't fall off the cliff. That's when he saw Shehnaaz completely hanging over the stone exhausted.
" SHEHNAAZ" shouted Sidharth panicking agter he saw her state.
Shehnaaz immediately looked up after hearing his voice and realised he was actually there.
"Haath do aapnaaa, Shehnaaz" he called Shehnaaz trying to reach towards her hand .
" Mai nahi de sakti , Sidharth. Mai tumhari tarah gym thodi karti hun yaar ki ek lagta mai latak jaun wo bhi stone par." Shehnaaz cried out of pain.
" Arey iss waqt bhi mazak sooj raha hai tumhe ...koshish toh karo.....Just give me your handddddd once i promise mai ye haath kabhi nahi chodunga ,Shehnaaz trust me." Sidharth shouted seriously.
"Come on Shehnaaz. Just ek baar..thamlo haath..." Sidharth said assuring Shehnaaz.
" Pakka nahi chodoge na ... mera saath ? " asked Shehnaaz with teary eyes.
" Mai wadaa karta hun , kabhi nahi chodunga." said Sidharth grabbing her hands and pulling her up with all the power he had.
After a lot of effort Sidharth finally pulled Shehnaaz up and hugged her ever so dearly.
" Shehnaaz , Shehnaaz , baby tum theek toh ho na .." asked Sidharth hurriedly checking her from top to bottom .
Shehnaaz immediately dug herself on his strong embrace, his chest trying to get more and more comfort and assurance that she was alive and infront of him.
Sidharth too hugged her very tightly as if he won't let her go anytime soon nor today, nor tomorrow, or in the future..
"Tumhe kisne kaha tha iss pahad ke kona pe jaakee baitho..haaa ? Agar mai time pe nahi aata aur tum niche gir jaati toh." scolded Sidharth furiously.
" Wo toh shukar hai mai tumhe dhoondhte huye kahi aur nahi chala gaya . Khudki fikar toh bilkul nahi haina... jab bola gaya hai ki akele mat baitho sabke saath udhar dhabbe pe chali jaati , toh kya ho jata tumhara haaa? Baachhiii ho kya ki har waqt koi tumhare saath rahega ki Shehnaaz madam musibaat mei padegi toh mai bacha lunga .. Haaa pata hai upar wale ye ye bheje mai kuch nahi diya hai , isiliye dusron ki kabhi kabhi sun leni chahiye." added Sidharth more and more making Shehnaaz upset truly.
" Aab hogayi galti toh kya karun, mai thodi na kudi thi aapne aap , aur nahi mera per fisla tha, mujhe kisine peeche se dhakka diya tha Sidharth, mujhe koi shauk nahi hai itni jaldi upar jaane ka. Huh bada aaya ." said Shehnaaz more off like taunting him.
" Tumhe iss sunsaan pahad mei kon dhakka dega.Yahan teko dur dur tak koi bhi insaan dikh raha hai? Khud hi fisli ho tum ye pahad se. Aab aaindaa agar aise jagah pe maine dekha na tumhe toh dekhna baal noch tera mai." replied Sidharth glaring at her.
"Aur haa agar next time aese agar kahi fasi na toh mai nahi aaunga bachane dekhlena tu . Last time tha yeh huh." added Sidharth taunting her.
" Ha Ha mat aaaa tu aayega bhi kyun, mai lagta kon hun teri joh aayega . Tujhe toh bas teri Samaira hi pyaari lagti hai , aur kisiki parwah bhi toh nahi hai tujhe.. huh" replied Shehnaaz with equal aggression.
"Haaa bohot parwahhh hai mujhe Samaira ki , atleast teri tarah toh nahi , jisko kisiki feelings ki kadar tak nahi , ye batana bhi zaruri nahi samjha ki , koi kisike saath engaged hai.." said Sidharth that's when he realised what happened yesterday.. He remembered her every word , very thing she spoke just felt like a needle piercing in his heart a thousand times, ripping his heart off.
" Sidharth..." said Shehnaaz trying to hold his face..
" Don't.."only this word escaped from Sidharth's mouth.
After that he simply walked towards the direction of dhaba where everyone else was and Shehnaaz was following his footsteps cursing her fate that at least he forgot everything for some minutes and talked to her and now he is back to square one....
