Shining Rebirth {Vanitas x Reader} Vol.5

Chapter 7: Passion

"What do you mean you're in love with Cat Noir?" Alya asked as you and Marinette are sitting on the bed in your pajamas.

"I don't see what's so weird about it." Marinette tries to convince Alya that she is in love with Cat Noir and explains that her love for Adrien cost her the Miraculouses.

"It's weird, because you were in love with Adrien just, like, yesterday." Alya points at the corkboard with photos on the wall next to you which Marinette covers the cork-board with her body.

You and Alya stares at her, unamused. Marinette pulls down an imaginary light pink, polkadotted projector screen.

"Because of my feelings for him, Shadow Moth stole fifteen Miraculous from me." Marinette points at a drawing of her and Adrien's heads with hearts instead of eyes, with Shadow Moth's head surrounded by the Kwamis below them, presented as an equation

"That's why loving Cat Noir is a good idea. Cat Noir is cute, very handsome, super confident, doesn't even put pressure on me anymore, and, turns out, he's really cool. And on top of that, he's in love with me, so it's perfect!" She then points at drawings of Cat Noir in different poses, surrounded by roses and sparkles.

"It's not perfect!" You object. You really need to tell Vanitas. It's a good thing you hid your phone in video chat and Vanitas is listening to the conversation.

"Yeah, he use to be in love with Ladybug." Alya stated.

"And we both know that means the same thing." Marinette argues.

"But he doesn't." You argued back. "And you know your doing the same thing over again. You find yourself a new, unavailable crush just when Adrien seems really interested in you ever since your obsession tore this family apart. You can't just fall in love immediately like in the fairy tales. I think your jumping  the gun and running away over what's more important than love."

"Not at all! I have no idea what I'd be running away from. I've got nothing to run away from. And it's already time to go to school anyway." She screams as she falls down from the bed.

"At 7 AM in the morning?" you deadpanned.

"Exactly! 7 AM is the right time if you don't wanna be late. See? New love, new habits, this goes to show I'm right to love Cat Noir." she puts on her schoolbag and opens the room's trap door leaving.

"She left in her pajamas." Alya grumbled.

"She is bad at understanding boy's get up." you stop snap chatting your boyfriend the news.

{~With Vanitas~}

Adrien repeats Marinette's name to himself three times while waking up, brushing his teeth, and standing in the door of the bathroom. A drawing of her face with a heart next to it is also visible in the steam on the bathroom mirror.

Plagg, Echo, Vanitas all gang up on him and smack him on the head. "Maripig, Maripig, it's all you can think about! Good grief, another crazy idiot I had to deal with." Vanitas blow dries the drawing on the window and no more Maripig.

"What about Ladybug?" Echo asked.

"It shouldn't be tossed away like an old cheese rind left on the edge of a platter!" Plagg added.

"No, guys, she's still wonderful, but she's not in love with me. So it's high time I leave her be and let her choose the cheese she wants on her platter." Adrien determines.

"And what if Maripig isn't in love with you?" Vanitas asked.

"The only way to find out is to ask her. Hide, Plagg, Echo." Adrien and Vanitas alks out of the room. The alarm clock in Adrien's room starts ringing, showing that it's 7:00 AM.
