Gabriel rants to Nathalie about his failed attempts on taking Sapphire and Dragon-Phoenix's Miraculous with the power of Second Chance.
"This power of Second Chance is of no use to me against Sapphire's Arsenius power! Every single time, his Shining Rebirth, Dragon-Phoenix attacks!"
"Deprive his Dragon-Phoenix. Without her, he won't stand a chance against you." Nathalie suggested.
"I've tried that before...If I deprive Sapphire's power, he replaces it! And when we manage to stop him altogether, Dragon-Phoenix is right there!" Gabriel continues to rant to Nathalie.
"I'm wasting my time, Nathalie..." Gabriel rolls up his sleeve with his cataclysmed arm "...and time is something I can't afford to lose. Every time I use Second Chance, time rewinds for Sapphire, Dragon-Phoenix and the rest of the world, but not for me. I remember every one of those attempts... and so does my body.
Nathalie gasps and puts her ear on Gabriel's chest to check on his heart. It's not beating right, the cataclysm has spread to the point where it has reached his heart. "Gabriel, your heart has been hurt! You can never use the power of Second Chance again!"
"And who will use it, then? You, perhaps??" He asked as Nathalie scowls at Gabriel and coughs. "Forgive me. As for using an akumatized villain, it's too dangerous. They'd hold sole power over time and memory of the events. And if they foolishly compromise that power, we could lose everything!"
"So far, you're the one who acted foolishly — risked everything and lost everything! Your use of the Miraculous is condemning us!" Nathalie glares at him.
Gabriel had nothing to do but to look down. Nathalie softens her expression. "Gabriel, you may only have a few weeks left like this... and I don't have much more than that. Maybe it's time to stop chasing after the Miraculous and start looking for a solution for Vanitas and Adrien. Make sure theirnot alone once we're gone."
Hearing these words, Gabriel's eyes start to fill with sadness. Nathalie places her hands over Gabriel's
"Do it. For Emilie."
The next day, Gabriel is cooking a pancake. Vanitas is sitting by the dining table, finishing what seemingly looks like a glass of orange juice while Adrien text Marinette.
"Tell me, Vanitas... Besides, Adrien, Nathalie and me, is there anyone else you like to spend your time with?" Gabriel asked.
Vanitas narrow his eyes in suspicions. "Why (Y/n) Dupain-Cheng of course. She loves to spend time with me." As the right time, his phone rings and he picks up. "Bonjour?"
Y/n: "VanVan! Noe making his very own Ice-Cream Making. He bought it just to enjoy for all of us! And guess what, he wants you to be the first to try his Rose Flavor!"
Vanitas was amused. " So you didn't just call me for ice cream because of Noe?"
Y/n: "Well he wanted to tell you in person, but he forgot to recharge his phone."
Vanitas snorted. "Classic Noe. Remind me how we're friends in the first place."
From behind, Gabriel is seen agonizing once more caused by the stabbing pain of his cataclysmed arm.
Y/n: "He just wants to spend time with his best friend Vanitas. He's like a puppy that wants attention."
"Well I want your attention and you get to be my little kitten playing with the puppy." Vanitas boasted. "Did you prepare questions for science class?"
Y/n: "Not yet. The live video conference we're doing with Max's mom on Tsurugi space jet! I am here to improvise questions, unpredictably, without planning anything!"
