Shining Rebirth {Vanitas x Reader} Vol.5

Chapter 20: Revelation

Lila is was sitting on her bed, talking to someone through her Alliance ring when her third mother arrived. Lila apologizes to her supposed mom, saying that due to the internet in the savannah, she has to go and save a baby rhino and she will call her later and hangs up. Just then, another one of Lila's mothers who is deaf walks into the room and asks Lila who she was talking to with sign language. Lila replies that it was her agent and goes to Sabine's art class. She gets on a bus and uses her acting skills and the fact that her face and voice are used on Alliance rings to get a free ride. She uses this opportunity to lie and make herself look better to the other passengers. She arrives in front of the school and picks up a coin from the ground and puts it in her purse.

At the art class, all of the Alliance rings update as Lila is replaced by Kagami and Yuki. At first Lila, is angry but decides to take advantage of the situation. Every person in the class turns to look at Lila, who is enraged by the current Alliance update. She takes a deep breath and coyly comes up with another story about her sudden disappearance of her avatar on the Alliance. She then uses the fact that she is no longer the female model on Alliance rings to impress the other people at the class and say that she decided to quit to spend more time with Sabine. She also tells the other people that You and Marinette are not.

Meanwhile, at the Agreste mansion, Gabriel is in front of his monitor when the stabbing pain on his left arm hits him, causing him to grunt. He takes off his glove and reveals that the cataclysm has already been consuming his hand. Nathalie enters the room. "There's someone for you at the gate." She closes the door.

Gabriel presses the intercom button on his monitor. It appears that Lila was the one looking for him, who is now seen standing in front of the mansion gate. "You could've warned me! I don't believe this replacement was in our agreement. As the face of the Gabriel brand—"

"You were only the face of my brand in exchange for a mission — to monitor my son's relationships and keep him away from bad company. You failed. My son Vanitas got close to this (Y/n)  Dupain-Cheng who's been nothing but a terrible influence on him. But you did give me one excellent idea — to create a new media-friendly pairing for my both sons, which is why Kagami Tsurugi  and Yuki Kuran will be the new female faces of the Gabriel brand. Perfection itself! All that remains to do is perpetuate this façade until it becomes truth in everyone's eyes. Absolutely everyone. And until jealousy eats away at (Y/n) Dupain-Cheng..." Gabriel explains smugly.

"But... What's to become of me?!"

"You just remain what you are. Nothing." He roasted her.

The intercom camera retracts back in the wall. Lila, filled with betrayal, and  becomes livid at what happened with the new update and with what she has just heard.

Gabriel is tempted "Hmm... such intense hate! It's tempting. But entrusting a power to someone who hates me so much wouldn't be a good idea."

Lila gritted her teeth. "You wouldn't get rid of me that easily, Monarch."

At school, you and Vanitas are walking through school, holding hands as you are greeted by students gossiping about the new Alliance avatar update.

"There they are!"

"So cool!"

"These two are so cute!"

"They look so great together!"

"Wow!"

 "Did you see that? You can put them in matching outfits!"

 "I ship them so much, I gotta write a fanfic about them!"

"Did you know about that update?" You asked Vanitas as you both sit by the stairs.

"No...." Vanitas grumbled. His father really gone to far to put Yuki with him in the Avatar. Settling down, the two of you are greeted by their classmates who are also shocked about the news.
