Ally hurried down the hallway, her heart pounding with each step as she raced to the office. She rounded the corner, lost in her thoughts, when suddenly she collided with someone, nearly sending them both tumbling to the ground.
"Shit, sorry!" she exclaimed, looking up to see David's familiar face smiling back at her.
"No worries, Ally," David replied, his grin widening. "Actually, I'm glad I bumped into you. I picked you as my student for the tutoring program."
Ally's eyes lit up with excitement at the news. "Seriously? That's awesome!" she exclaimed, feeling a rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins.
David nodded eagerly. "Yeah, we can go over the details in the office," he said, gesturing down the hallway.
But before Ally could respond, she realized she was already late. With a muttered curse under her breath, she sprinted towards the office, her heart racing as she pushed open the door.
To her dismay, she found the principal waiting inside, his expression thunderous as he glared at her. "Ally, you're late," he snapped, his voice sharp with disapproval.
Ally's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she tried to catch her breath. "I'm sorry, sir," she stammered, shooting a panicked glance at her friends, who were seated nearby, along with a couple of intimidating seniors.
The principal's stern gaze shifted from Ally to the other students gathered in the office. "Now, let's get down to business," he announced, his tone firm.
"Maddy, you've been paired up with Ali," he continued, addressing the head of the football team. "You'll be helping her pass the football trial coming up for the school. It'll be a great addition to her record."
Maddy's eyes lit up with excitement at the news, a grin spreading across her face as she exchanged glance with Ali.
"Ally, you've been picked by David," the principal continued, his gaze turning towards her. "He'll be accompanying and tutoring you."
Ally's heart skipped a beat at the mention of David's name, a rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins as she shot him a smile.
"Sophie, you've been paired with your Adam," the principal said, turning to address her. Sophie's ex...
Sophie's jaw clenched at the mention of her ex's name, her eyes narrowing with frustration as she shot him a glare. Adam merely smirked in response, his expression unreadable.
"And finally, Fae," the principal concluded, his gaze falling on her. "You're paired up with Kai."
Fae's heart fluttered at the mention of Kai's name, a surge of excitement coursing through her veins as she met his gaze across the room. She couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation for the tutoring sessions that lay ahead, eager to spend more time with him outside of the classroom.
After the meeting ended, Sophie grabbed Adam by the arm and dragged him to a more secluded corner of the hallway, her frustration boiling over.
"Why the fuck did you pick me of all people?" she demanded, her voice seething with anger.
Adam sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Because I couldn't stand the thought of someone else picking you," he replied, his tone earnest.
"Shut up! I'm not your girlfriend, and we broke up," Sophie snapped, her patience wearing thin.
Adam shrugged, his expression unreadable. "Doesn't change the fact that I still care about you," he said simply.
Sophie's temper flared at his response, her fists clenched at her sides. "Fuck you, Adam," she spat, her voice trembling with emotion as she stormed off down the hallway.
As Sophie disappeared around the corner, Adam's lips curled into a smug grin. "We're gonna have so much fun together," he called after her, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
As Fae and Kai made their way to the library, Kai launched into a passionate rant about all the things he planned to teach her. Fae listened intently, hanging on his every word, her heart fluttering at the idea of spending more time with him.
But as they passed by a group of Kai's girl- friends in the hallway, Fae couldn't help but notice the hostile glares they shot in her direction. She shifted uncomfortably under their scrutiny, feeling a pang of unease at the intensity of their jealousy.
Kai seemed oblivious to the tension, his attention focused solely on Fae as he continued to chatter away. But Fae couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, the weight of their disapproving stares lingering. But guess what she didn't care. Hoes mad... she thought to herself with a smirk
Kai noticed the tension in Fae's demeanor and furrowed his brow with concern. "Hey, everything okay?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine worry.
Fae hesitated for a moment before shrugging nonchalantly. "Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, trying to brush off her discomfort. "Just noticed your girl-friends glaring at me, but honestly, they can't do shit."
Kai chuckled at her boldness, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Damn right," he agreed, his tone amused. "They're just jealous because I'm hanging out with you. One of them used to have the biggest fucking crush on me, but I shut that down real quick."
Fae's eyes widened in surprise at his blunt admission, a smirk of her own playing on her lips. "Well, sucks to be her then," she remarked, feeling a surge of satisfaction at the thought of Kai rejecting his admirer.
Kai nodded in agreement, a sense of camaraderie forming between them. "Exactly," he replied, his tone laced with confidence. "But seriously, don't let them get to you."
