In the prison, Kotoko was attempting to stay far away from other prisoners, considering the fact she was voted guilty in trial 2, and the fact that she was restrained and it hurt to move. For now, it would be safer to be low on her guard, but a certain prisoner Kotoko had beaten before would harass her quite often.
Shiina Mahiru...
Her harassment of Kotoko seemed very sudden, but surprisingly, Kotoko wasn't surprised to this behavior.
Mahiru's form of 'harassment' consisted of letters and small gifts being delivered under Kotoko's door. Not to mention Kotoko would hear light scratches and knocking all throughout the night, keeping her awake often.
Despite how strange this behavior was, there were warning signs even before Mahiru and Kotoko had... the incident.
Mahiru followed Kotoko around the prison, all the way to her own cell. Other times, Mahiru would notice Kotoko and giggle almost creepily, before waving and returning to whatever she was doing. Kotoko thought Mahiru was weird, and to be fair, Mahiru gave her no other choice but to think she was weird! I mean, come on. Acting almost stalkerish and obsessive in prison of all things?
And because Kotoko was guilty, she only left her room for two reasons: washroom, and dinner.
It was also on one of these trips to the cafeteria, coincidentally... Mahiru also happened to be leaving her cell for dinner, her cell door being left open.
"Kotoko-chan! What a surprise~" She greeted, although her voice didn't seemed that surprised. Mahiru still was bandaged head to toe, but instead of looking almost dead as usual, she seemed cheerful. Perhaps the innocent verdict she received lightened her mood.
Kotoko ignored her, as usual. And as usual to the other times, Mahiru chose to tag along with Kotoko.
Arriving at her destination (the cafeteria) Kotoko wasn't craving much, considering the fact she was being followed by a weirdo. Kotoko leaned in the fridge, looking for something to make or eat. Despite not interacting with her, Kotoko could feel Mahiru's eyes just staring her down, almost as if her gaze tore sharp pains into her skin. This irritated Kotoko.
Kotoko got up, firmly walking over in Mahriu's direction, following Kotoko's glaring eyes every step of the way.
"What do you want?"
Kotoko snarled, annoyed by Mahiru's persistence, Mahiru pondered for a moment. Well, 'seemingly' pondered for a moment.
"I want to talk to you!" Mahiru smiled sweetly at the other, Kotoko's glares fighting with Mahiru's smiles.
Kotoko shoved Mahiru to a chair disliking the answer. Which caused Mahiru to lightly yelp in pain, however Kotoko wasn't left unaffected either. Simply pushing Mahiru was a struggle for Kotoko because of the restraints.
Mahiru panted, trying to cope with the pain of her arm, Kotoko stared down at the other without mercy. That was when Mahiru began to giggle, Kotoko was taken aback by this reaction. Mahiru looked up and... For the first time in Kotoko's life, staring into the deep void eyes of Mahiru startled her. She took a step back, before marching forward, acting tough.
"And what're you laughing about?" Mahiru smiled, staying sat. Kotoko waited for an answer and yet, one never came.
Assuming Mahiru was being a weird ass again, Kotoko took a step to leave before she felt a sudden hand grab her forearm. Kotoko tried to wriggle out of her grasp, with no luck, these restraints were getting in Kotoko's way. Mahiru then pulled Kotoko towards her suddenly.
Without a second thought, Kotoko used her free hand to slide her shirt off so the restraints had no effect on her, throwing her clothes over both Mahiru and her own hand. Mahiru, not expecting Kotoko to strip half way, had loosened her grip for Kotoko to pull away quickly.
