When Es entered the room, a young adult man was seated at the table. He has dark hair and brown eyes, his bangs were swept to the side. The latter didn't even turn to face Es when the door very loudly creaked open.
Sitting in front of the man, Es greeted "Hello, I'm your prison guard, Es. Pleased to meet you." The man mumbled "Morino Touwa. 29." Es shifted himself in his seat to get comfortable.
Deciding to get to the point, Es questioned "What is the reason behind your imprisonment?" Touwa responded quickly "No comment." Hearing this, Es raised an eyebrow, curiously. Touwa didn't seem up for much conversation, unfortunately for him, that's why Es was there to begin with.
Deciding to switch the topic Es asked "What are your thoughts currently? Are you concerned at all?" Touwa didn't reply, instead he sighed almost as if he were breathless to begin with. Es' posture stilled, and said in a cold voice, "Do you want to continue responding this way? I will decide whether to forgive you or not and your life depends on these judgements. You should respond carefully." They warned. Touwa replied "I do not care, nor do I mind." Hearing this, Es became slightly annoyed with Touwa's behavior so far. Continuing to question Touwa, Es asked "Are you really not interested in your verdict?" To which Touwa repeated "I don't care for it." Es stared at Touwa for a moment, almost like he was fed up with an adult man already. They asked "You don't care for the consequences?" Their tone is harsh and unfriendly, Es leaned closer to hear Touwa's answer.
Surprisingly, Touwa stated "I don't know myself... I feel dull in the moment." They were going somewhere at least... Es questioned "Why is that?" Touwa shrugged mumbling "Don't know, don't care." Hearing so many annoying indifferent opinions from Touwa, pissed off Es. The latter stood from his chair and leaned close to Touwa, close enough to an uncomfortable distance, his aura was threatening. "Answer me" Es stated. Their voice was firm and loud for Touwa, while he flinched, he didn't react any further, stating "No, I simply don't care about it." This was not the response Es was waiting to hear, they commented "You're so indifferent about everything, it's almost infuriating...." Es leaned back and fell into their seat again, adjusting their hat. Es was curious though...
"Touwa-san, please explain how you ended up with such an apathetic and indifferent personality." Hearing this Touwa seemed at least a bit more interested in replying, though he still responded "No comment." Es exclaimed "How frustrating!" Es glared at Touwa from across the table, although Touwa knew he was being glared at by what he assumed to be a 15 year old child, he acted clueless. Touwa explained "From what I recall, your answer will be hidden in my 'music video' produced from my memories, no? Why bother chatting to me when my memories will explain it for you?" Es also explained "Because I don't think these music videos will explain indifference. Does it have something to do with your murder?" Touwa went silent and looked down shamefully. Jackpot. "What does it matter to you?" Es shifted in his seat again explaining "Because your indifference pisses me off. It's like you don't even care if you die..!" Touwa chuckled and replied "Well, that's fitting, considering I'm a prisoner, is it not?" Es was practically breathing through his teeth.
"Tch, you really are infuriating." Es commented. "So, you'd be okay with dying?" Touwa responded "Of course." Touwa's indifference was slightly unnerving for Es, he seemed as if he had no use for 'caring' at all. Es had no idea themself, but they couldn't help but be infuriated by Touwa's indifference. This conversation was going nowhere, Es realized, deciding to somehow keep the conversation going, Es asked "Then why are you still living?" Touwa's head looked another way, seemingly to think for a moment. After a while of long silence, Touwa replied "I don't know." Before Es shot up to sucker punch Touwa, the prisoner continued "A man by the name Masaru told me to keep living and see where I'd end up." Hearing this, Es was already standing to reach him.
Es sat back down and coughed to clear his throat, inquiring "Who is this Masaru fellow? Is he a past acquaintance?" Touwa shook his head and answered "Masaru is from this prison. I believe he is prisoner 5..." Es finally got some answers from this man, he leaned back in his seat and questioned "What was Masaru like?" Touwa replied "Hmm, very much like me before my fiancé's suicide." His fiancé's suicide?
Hearing Touwa's voice drift off, Es asked "Well, what was she like? Your fiancé I mean." Touwa explained "Uhm, she was very out going. Oh, and strong willed." Es commented "I see.." There was a slight shine in Touwa's eyes as he spoke of this woman, even Es could tell. Es raised his hand to catch Touwa attention again, the light in Touwa's eyes darkened again and curiously tilted his head. Es questioned "What did you do after her passing?" Touwa fell silent before he answered "...I don't know." From what Es gathered so far, he could somewhat understand what Touwa was coming from, so he assumed aloud "Did you give up on everything after she committed suicide?" Touwa nodded. Es sighed.
At the very least, Touwa seemed willing to speak of his deceased fiancé, so Es focused on the topic. "How do you feel now that she's dead?" "Empty" Touwa responded. Es squinted his eyes curiously, hearing Touwa's reply. However, there was a hint of distrust from Es' side, they asked "Are you sure you loved your fiancé, or was she something you also didn't care about?" With the way Es' tone was used, he was clearly mocking Touwa. Touwa could tell and in an annoyed tone, Touwa stated "No, I loved her." Es questioned "Is the reason she committed suicide because of you?" "No!" Touwa shouted, glaring at Es. Touwa said "She committed suicide because of personal reasons, I'm sure you'd know those reasons once you view my music video, correct?" Es leaned back in the chair, their fingers holding their chin in a curious manner, "Correct, but it doesn't hurt to hear a vocal opinion." Touwa stated "Then I don't care about a vocal opinion." Es glared at Touwa and shrugged, accepting the answer from the other.
"Well then, do you perhaps know your own murder?" Es asked, hoping to provoke an answer from Touwa, it was a fruitless effort as Touwa said "Yes, but my music video will share it." Es sighed and questioned "Do you even regret it then?" Touwa halted his movement, unmoving.
He stared at Es expressionless before the silence was broken by the sound of gears moving. Touwa looked around confused, and Es muttered "So, it's starting..." Touwa inquired "The music video?" Es nodded, before explaining "Next trial, you'd better answer my question." Touwa silently nodded, before it all became dark.
