Chapter 10:Final showdown & Answers

Kaori Pov

I yawned and threw my arms outward in a stretch...I felt my fist hit something and opened my eyes to see a face way too close to mine. I squeaked and jerked backwards, falling out of bed. I scooted backwards to the wall on the other side of the room and sat there panting in a panic.I saw Sasuke sit up and rub his jaw, glaring at me the whole time. I was going to kill him. I matched his glare with a glare of my own.

"What the hell Sasuke? What are you doing in MY bed?" I asked in between clenched teeth. He raised an eyebrow at me.

"Don't you remember last night?"

"No." I said with a scowl.

"Whatever." He replied while getting out of my bed. "I never expected you to say Thank you anyway." He left, slamming my door behind him. All of this just left me wondering what happened last night.

After breakfast we all left, leaving Naruto so he could rest. I was feeling well rested and powerful this morning. I don't know if it was because I knew that we were facing Zabuza today or because I slept really well, but feeling powerful wasn't a bad thing. There was an uncomfortable silence between Sasuke and me, but I decided to ignore it and just think about what I could do to improve the upcoming battle. At the moment I don't know if I want to save Sasuke or not. Maybe 'dying' will do him good. I smirked.

"What?" Sasuke asked me in an irritated voice. I looked at him a little too innocently.

"Nothing."

"Hn." Was his vocal reply. We walked the rest of the way in silence. Once we got to the bridge it was obvious that something was wrong.

"What the hell is this?!" Tazuna yelled once he saw all of his workers lying on the ground.

"Someone must have gotten to them!" He said, stating the obvious.

"Zabuza." I said to no one in particular. Mist started appearing around us, thickening in a menacing way. We got into battle formation with Kakashi in the front.

"Sorry to keep you waiting Kakashi. I see you've still got those brats with you. That one's still trembling. Pitiful." Said Zabuza's gravely voice from the mist. I looked over and sure enough, Sasuke was shaking...but with a small smile on his face.

"I'm trembling with excitement for a rematch." Sasuke said to Zabuza's water clone...There were at least three water clones surrounding us all of a sudden. I need to be more vigilant!

"Go on Sasuke." Kakashi ordered. In less than a second Sasuke had destroyed all of Zabuza's water clones.

"Nice." I complimented. He looked at me surprised and let out a small smile. Well.....I didn't think he cared about what I thought about him...Maybe I shouldn't let him die...just this once.

"Looks like you've got a rival Haku."

"So it seems."

"It seems I was right. Who do you think you're fooling with that mask?" Kakashi said coolly.
