Kaori PoV

I woke up in the morning feeling refreshed, light and a little confused because I couldn't be sure that last night really happened...I could just be really sleep deprived.

Anyway today I have plans to hang out with Shikamaru...He kind of forced me to hang out today and I think he was doing it to help me feel better. I was already feeling pretty good so I decided that I was going to make this a nice fun day for him.

Shikamaru PoV

Usually spending a day with a girl would be a pain. But I guess it was better since Kaori isn't that troublesome. She isn't like the other girls who scream and run around like idiots. I guess that's why I consider her my best friend. There are a lot of times where I would like to be more than that, but I'm happy with what we are for now.

There are days where we'll just lay down and watch the clouds in silence for hours or play Shogi until we can't see straight; even though she isn't very good at it. She also hates waking up--which I can relate to. But today wasn't about those things. Today I was on a mission. A mission to cheer her up. It would be a pain but watching her moping around is such a drag.

Kaori PoV

I saw Shikamaru laying down on our cloud watching hill with his eyes closed. I knew he was probably asleep so I went up next to him and lightly kicked him in the side.

"Get up lazy ass!" I said with a smile. He looked up at me looking irritated.

"You're late again you troublesome woman." He grumbled.

"Yeah well there was an old lady who needed help walking across the street and carrying groceries and so naturally I had to help her." Shikamaru just sighed at my lame excuses, he's heard 'em all before.

"What are we doing today anyway?" I asked, watching while Shikamaru sat up and sighed again.

"I don't know. I was thinking about just taking a walk around the village, getting some Dango and coming back here." This is why I liked hanging out with Shikamaru, He understood my two favorite things. Dango and doing absolutely nothing.My personal goal in life was actually to out-lazy Shikamaru.

Sasuke PoV

I was walking through the village looking for my team when I heard a very familiar laugh. I quickly ducked behind a building and peeked around the corner. Wait, why the hell am I hiding? I was looking for her after all. I saw Kaori walking down the street with a smile on her face. She looked beautiful like that, happy. I was about to go over and talk to her until I saw who she was walking with. Shikamaru. Damn him getting to be with her all the time.

They stopped walking and were talking to each other. It looked like they were saying good bye. Shikamaru hugged her and she kissed his cheek before smiling and waving at him and walking away. I could feel the burning anger again...but now it was stronger. I started running....fast.

Kaori PoV

I had had a really fun and relaxing day with Shika. Right now we were walking back through the village and to my house. Shikamaru had just said something ridiculous and I was laughing like an idiot when I realized that the sand siblings were going to show up like, now.
