lies and deceit

Hikimah's POV
Layla: what are you two talking about?
Ali:umm nothing (he said nervously.such a coward.How I wish she knew,then I would be at peace) how was work?

Layla:it was good but am so tired.
Ali:you go take a bath and I will give you a massage.
Layla: okay (she leaves)
Hikimah:you have time to give her a massage yet you don't have time for me!?

Ali: that's enough.
Hikimah:no it's never enough.I am also your wife yet you treat her better than me.We are supposed to be equal.Why can't you love me like before.

Ali:I do love you.
Hikimah:but you love her more, don't you?
Ali:I can't love you both equally and you know that.Its impossible.
Hikimah:I hate you!

Ali: hikimah am sorry I can't love you like you want,but you knew how much I loved my wife,yet you choose to accept me.So you must learn to live with it.(he walked off.I couldn't help but scream)

Am also his wife j have every right to be with him,but all he does is spend time with Layla.I thought after we got married,he would love me more but I was wrong.

Layla's POV
Ali massaged my shoulders,I couldn't help but hug him.
Ali: what's wrong?
Layla:I just love you so much

Ali:I love you too dear.(I couldn't help but feel guilty.I have been cheating Layla for the past three years)

I met hikimah as a patient and quickly fell in love with her,as I kept treating her.I didn't know how to tell Layla that I wanted another wife.

I knew it would hurt her,so I went behind her back and married hikimah after six months.Nobody knew until she got pregnant.

I informed my family,they were dissapointed in me but still helped me to keep this a secret.We lied that hikimah was my sister, and that her husband had left her.

Meanwhile she was actually my wife and carrying our daughter binta,who would soon turn two.

I feel so bad for lying to her face but that was the only way to ensure that she wouldn't get hurt.

I do love hikimah but not as much as I love Layla and I realised that after hikimah moved in.That is why hikimah hates Layla so much.

I had offered to divorce her to free her from my toture,but she teared up and it broke my heart because I love her too,but just not as much as I love Layla.

She decided to still stay and besides binta didn't deserve this, she deserved to be with both her parents and hikimah also has her rights.

In fulfilling hikimah and binta's rights,am betraying Layla,the most important woman in my life, and the one who has always wanted what's best for me.

She doesn't deserve this,so I have no choice but to keep it a secret from her,inorder not to hurt her.

What have I done, please forgive me Layla.
