Layla: nobody cares about my pain because he is allowed to marry more women.Is this what you call Islam? For a man to betray a woman like this,tear her heart into millions of pieces,yet nobody says anything, because it's allowed.
Am a robot right,my heart doesn't matter right,he can take out my heart and stomp on it right? and nobody will say anything right? Because this is Islam and it's allowed.
Latifa:yes,it is allowed,but the way and manner he did it wasn't right.
Layla:well it wouldn't change the pain if he had done it the right way.Do you think it's easy for a woman to watch her husband that she loves marry another woman and have kids with her?
(I looked into Ali's eyes)
Layla:men are selfish, and Islam caters to them.Men like you disgust me, and I am dissapointed in my religion for allowing this.I don't even know why am in this religion.I want a divorce.
(I walked off.)
Ali's POV
I didn't care about the slap,all I cared about was not loosing her.A divorce? Is she trying to kill me? I know that I hurt her and I will make it up to her,but divorce is something I can't give her.
I decided to make it possible for her parent's to arrive that evening, Hopefully they would change her mind.
Layla's POV
They called for prayers, and I didn't even get up to pray.What was the point in praying to God who allows people to hurt you.
It is Allah who is supposed to protect us,but in this case he hurt me alot,how then can I have faith in him.
My thoughts were interrupted when my father walked in.I knew my parents would come for me.
Layla: father!(I went to hug him, only to end up with a slap.He then dragged me out to the hall and threw me at my so called husband's feet.I saw my uncle who was older than my dad praying.My second uncle who was the youngest spoke)
Taufic: what are you doing,jalil!
Jalil:enough! You how could you slap your own husband! Do you know who a husband is in Islam! and you dare lay your filthy hands on him! Do you not have any respect for Allah!
Layla:I don't believe in Allah.
Jalil:you wretched child!(he grabbed me by the hair and threw me at Ali's feet causing me to bump my head.i bled Abit)
Ali: father-in-law, please don't hurt her.
Jalil:you are so kind, even after her disrespecting you,you still care for her.
Taufic:kind?he cheated her!
Jalil:he has every right to get another wife, though he did it the wrong way,but it can be forgiven,but what she did is very hard to forgive.Disobeying one's husband is the biggest sin a woman can commit, imagine her hitting him too? She is an abomination! You better beg your husband right now!
(I looked into my mother's eyes.She looked ashamed of me.)
