It had been a few days since the Hypnobrai attack on Jamanakai Village, and as usual, Master Wu was meditating. But something was different today. Like before, he heard his students nearby, and he went to check on them, except they weren't in the games room. To his pleasant surprise, they were all in the courtyard, training.

"Monkey paw to the head!" Kai yelled.

"Ninja roll!" Cole chimed in.

"Hey!" Felix protested. "Wait your turn, Cole!"

"Oh, sorry, Lex."

"Dragon punch!" Jay shouted, deflecting arrows with his nunchucks. Cole was swinging his scythe at the dummies, Felix was practicing blocks and dodges, Kai was doing Spinjitzu, and Zane was meditating, off in his own world.

Suddenly, the White Ninja sprang up and started disturbing the others. He jumped into Jay's path, and snatched Cole's scythe from his hands, which he then swung at a dummy, but accidentally snagged Felix's leg and brought her down too. "Ninja Go!" he exclaimed, doing Spinjitzu and freezing the whole courtyard, causing Kai to slip and fall hard.

The Red Ninja stood up and joined the other three. "This roof isn't big enough for the five of us," he remarked.

"Correction," Cole interjected, "This roof isn't big enough for him."

"It's like he's in his own world," Jay added. "I bet he can't even hear us!" He yelled toward Zane, but the White Ninja remained heedless. As awesome as Zane was, they all agreed that there were times when he acted downright odd.

"Sensei, Zane is... weird," Kai said.

"What is weird?" Wu asked. "Someone who is different or someone who is different than you?"

"No, Sensei," Cole replied. "He's "weird" weird." The ninjas started reminiscing about recent moments when Zane did something out of the ordinary. There was one time Cole was doing private stuff in the bathroom, and Zane just walked in and started combing his hair. As if he didn't know that you have to knock before entering the lavatories if they are occupied.

Jay remembered when he watched a sad romantic movie with Nya and Zane, and when it got to the most tragic scene, Jay and Nya shed tears, while Zane just burst out laughing, as if watching two lovers who were parting ways forever was the funniest thing he ever seen.

Kai recalled getting up in the night and going to the kitchen for a late-night snack, only to find Zane inside the fridge, having eaten everything. "Holy baloney!" Kai exclaimed. "I'm sorry. I consumed the last of the deli meat. Cheese?" Zane replied casually.

Finally, Felix remembered when she walked into her workshop and heard a strange noise, only to find Zane sleeping under her workbench, using blueprints as a blanket. "Sure, Zane's behaviour can be kinda... quirky. But it's just who he is. Who am I to judge where he wants to sleep?"

"We love the guy; he's really smart," Kai added. "He's just... a little off sometimes."

"Zane is a brother," Wu chimed in. "And siblings are often different. I should know."

Meanwhile, just below the monastery, the mailman was dragging his feet up the never-ending staircase. It felt like it got taller the further he went. He was exhausted. Why couldn't the Monastery of Spinjitzu be on a smaller mountain? Although out of breath, he made it to the front gate, which opened for him. "Mail!" Kai, Jay, and Cole shouted excitedly, rushing over, while Felix went to get the mailman a glass of water.

"Let's see." The mailman reached into his bag and handed out their letters. "A letter from Jay's parents. Kai has a fan letter. Oh, something from Cole's father."
