This would be the start of several life-changing discoveries. Kai, Cole, Felix, and Jay are up on deck, staring at the stopwatch the Red Ninja was holding with disbelieving eyes. Zane had asked for help timing him while he tried to break his breath-holding record.

"Ten minutes!" Kai exclaimed, jaw dropping. "He just broke his own record. The guy's inhuman!"

Zane was sitting on the ocean floor directly below in a meditative position. A fish swam by, and he petted its fins before swimming up to the surface. When he broke through, his friends all cheered, and Kai stopped the watch.

"That was legendary!" Felix cheered.

"Amazing!" Cole whistled.

"We're not worthy!" Jay finished, playfully bowing down.

"I broke the record?" Zane asked.

"You destroyed it!" Kai exclaimed, shaking the stopwatch.

"Okay, okay. Is anyone thinking what I'm thinking?" Jay asked, standing up. "We've been training for so long, I don't think we can get any better. Just think about all we've accomplished."

They all started flashing back to their biggest moments of accomplishment during their training. Kai managed to run across several meters of hot coals without it hurting his feet; Jay balanced on a metal rod on top of a high building during a lightning storm; Cole tested his strength in weightlifting, adding more and more weights to the barbell, only for it to still be too light for him; and Felix ran a difficult obstacle course while wearing a blindfold, swiftly moving through it like the wind itself, coming out with nary a scratch.

Coming back to the present, the ninjas have proud grins on their faces. "True, we have accomplished a lot, but that doesn't mean there's no room for improvement." Felix said.

"The question should be raised." Zane said. "Perhaps we have reached our full potential?"

"Yeah, we definitely have!" Kai claimed. "Let's go tell Wu." And he, Jay, and Cole rushed inside to find their mentor.

Felix sighed and chuckled. "Must you guys always jump to conclusions?"

"That's how our team works." Zane answered. "I believe we are the only two with common sense."

"A good sense?" Felix laughed. "Maybe. But common sense? Eh, not so much."

As they walk to Master Wu's room, the boys start bragging about their daily workouts. "Well, every morning, I do five hundred pushups." Zane said.

"Five hundred?" Kai scoffed. "Ha! Try a thousand."

"Ha! I do a thousand and one." Jay boasts, sticking his chest out.

"What is this, amateur hour?" Cole snickered. "Sounds like my warm-up." Felix couldn't help but laugh at her friends' cockiness as they entered their sensei's room. "Sensei, what does true potential look like if..." Cole clammed up when Felix punched him in the shoulder. He then noticed they had interrupted Master Wu in his silence.

"Our apologies, Sensei." Zane said sheepishly. "We've interrupted you."

"I'm sorry if I've been distant lately." Wu said, putting away the katana he was holding. "My mind has been elsewhere since Lloyd and Akane have gone missing. What can I help you with?"

"Sensei, what if we've done enough training?" Cole asked. "What if we've reached our true potential? What if we're ready?"

"Hm. You might have reached peak physical condition, but you've yet to reach your inner potential. In each and every one of us, there are obstacles that hold us back. Only when you conquer that fear will your heart be free. Only then will you reach your true potential. Only then will we have a fighting chance to stop the Serpentine from releasing the Great Devourer."
