Oddly enough, you're not as disoriented as you thought you'd be. Having been transferred into Meowscarada's body only stung for an instant, your senses dwindling before you pull yourself awake and establish yourself as, well, a Pokémon.

In one way or another, you are her, and she is you.

"Don't go getting us killed now," Meowscarada's voice echoes through your head. "You already know I'm plenty sturdy. But you're the one piloting this ship, captain, so."

"Yeah, yeah, I got it. I'm not stupid."

"When it comes to physically fighting, I'd disagree."

You ignore her, focusing instead on getting a grasp for this body. Every movement is three times as smooth as it would be in a human's body. You feel light as paper, nimble, but not quite frail in any way. The opposite, in fact; you feel totally unbreakable. Your body — Meowscarada's body — feels like it was built of steel, not flesh, that your muscles and bones aren't really that at all, but something else entirely.

It feels strange, but you're still not completely dissociated from your senses.

You take a few steps forward, working those digitigrade legs. Bounce on your heels. The grass at your feet tickles your pawpads, forcing an awkward sound out of you as you're obligated to settle with this disgusting feeling. Then, another thought sets into your head.

"Meowscarada, do you cough up hairballs?"

Meowscarada's voice takes a second to reach you, and you think that's only because she had to pause a moment to laugh at your question. "All cats do."

"I want out," you quickly say and turn around, facing your human body, who is still motionlessly gazing at the Synchro Machine in his hands. The sight is more than unappealing, to be seeing your own body from a point of view not belonging to you.

You approach the device, reach out for the red button, but are stopped in your tracks when something cuts off your sense of control. Your motor skills go down the drain in the blink of an eye. Like you're trapped within a box. You swallow a nervous breath and try to move, but you're stuck. This, you know, is Meowscarada's power again.

"Not so fast," she purrs, "when did I say you could opt out of this?"

Her voice has dropped low, eerily creeping into the far recesses of your mind like the coldest breeze.

"Let me go," is all you can think to say.

"Don't ruin our fun." A pause, and then it feels like your consciousness is being cupped in the iron grip of an entity you can't see. You fail to calm your breathing. "Use me. Use my body. Do it, or by Arceus, I'll keep you trapped inside of me for as long as I see fit."

Your spine crawls with a warm tingling.

"I'd be careful if I were you. I can take back control whenever I want. You wouldn't want to disappoint me, now would you, Master~?"

It feels as if she has swallowed you whole. Not just your body, but your mind. In your mind's eye, you can barely see a face jutting out of the empty void of thought, peering into your soul from all angles. Everywhere and nowhere at once. You know it's horrifying, that your only wish is to pull your eyes away from her influence, yet at the same time you can't bring yourself to redirect your gaze.

A few moments after Meowscarada's voice fades out of your ears, you regain control of the Pokémon's body, your eyes lingering on the Synchro Machine just inches from your hand. It's probably best if you don't reach for it.

"Fine," you say halfheartedly. "Just don't trap me in here. Please."

Meowscarada says nothing, leaving you on your own — if that really means anything. She's still in your head. Well, her head. And she's always watching through this shared vision. You sigh and begin a steady jog toward the coastal area of the Terarium, trying your best to urge these fears out of your mind. They're justified. You know they are. Meowscarada is in control, whether it's now or later, there is nothing stopping her from assuming dominance and dooming you to this prison within a Pokémon's body.
