Something breaks your fall.

You look down and find a thick bundle of Meowscarada's vines acting as a cushion for you, and there beside you is Meowscarada herself who has landed flawlessly on all fours. She hisses, standing on her two feet and staring off at something in the distance. Before long, you follow along with her, and now the two of you are locking eyes with the beast hidden within this crystal cavern.

A Terastallized Salazzle.

Pink fumes and flames swirl around the creature's elongated muzzle, the jagged shape of its mouth lit by a constantly pulsing firelight. The markings on its body, along with its sharp eyes, all glisten and glow hot pink with every small breath it takes. If you had to guess, you'd say it's powering itself up, ready to burn both of you alive. But perhaps that's not the worst part. Looking above its head, you see the Tera Jewel connected to its skull. Built with rugged edges that look all too capable of cutting deeper than broken glass, the Jewel atop its head appears to symbolize a Dark-type Terastallization.

This wouldn't be an issue if you had taught Meowscarada some Fighting moves. Unfortunately, because you've never felt the need to switch them up, she prioritizes her Grass moves — meaning you don't have a hint of an advantage down here against this colossal threat.

"We are so dead," you whimper.

"Stop saying that," Meowscarada shouts back. "I've got this! I told you, I can make anything disappear." She glares at the massive Salazzle and concentrates her magic, shutting her eyes to further focus and breathe life into her powers. With a brief huff of air, Meowscarada lifts her paw, aims her palm at the Pokémon who only watches in curiosity. And she speaks sternly...

"Disappear."

...

Nothing happens.

"It's still there!" you yell.

"Meow?" Meowscarada opens her eyes for a second to check, then closes them again. "Disappear!"

Silent, the Salazzle watches the both of you struggle mentally for your lives. In fact, it feels so much that you're not a threat, and resorts to lying down casually over a bunch of rocks. Its blazing eyes remain on you. Right now you're certain that Pokémon is mocking you. Today might be the day you get to hear a Salazzle laugh at how her prey is falling apart beneath her gaze.

Meowscarada starts to freak out, waving her paws around frantically as she screams into the cave. "Disappear, disappear, disappear!!"

Still, nothing happens. The Salazzle continues to loom over its lowly prey, waiting for something to happen — almost as if... it wants you to try. It wants you to put on a show. Realizing it's rather strange that you aren't being burnt to a crisp yet, you turn to the enormous lizard and call out.

"Please don't kill us!! We didn't mean to come down here!!"

"Yeah, like that would work," Meowscarada yells sarcastically. "It can't understand you, moron!"
