For as long as she can remember, she has played angel's advocate.

For as long as she has wandered the earth, dipping in and out of regions she never cared to learn the names of, blending in with humans and Pokémon alike when the opportunity would arise — she has committed horrid crimes

For as long as she has wandered the earth, dipping in and out of regions she never cared to learn the names of, blending in with humans and Pokémon alike when the opportunity would arise — she has committed horrid crimes.

Once, she took the form of an adorable Pikachu.

Balled up on the side of the road, all alone, acting as though she were starving and on her last leg. That day, an unsuspecting young girl rushed to her aid without a second thought. Everything the human did was for a purpose, fueled only by her youthfulness and sweet, kind heart.

But where there is youth, there is naivety.

That Zoroark in disguise tore the human girl to shreds like a ravenous beast on the hunt. No one would hear the girl scream. No one would see her bleed there on the forest floor.

Her body was dragged away.

Tossed into a crater full of pearly Tera crystals, and left to rot.

...

Once, she took the form of a Salazzle.

It shouldn't come as a surprise. Many died by her hands in this form, for she had mastered the art of aphrodisiacs and clouding an oblivious human's mind with but a single breath. Human males were among the easiest to harvest. They were programmed to fall for a Salazzle's spell, thus becoming her targets for quite some time.

She grew severely addicted to tormenting poor souls, her sadistic nature having gotten the better of her in what seemed to be a mere couple days.

Days. That's all it took for her body count to hit triple digits.

She was a murderer, and she loved it. Every time the victims screamed, she would feel this pang of pleasure in her chest, this tingly sensation spreading across her limbs like wildfire. Every time they begged for mercy, she would giggle and laugh like a child on crack, and proceed to indulge, ripping into their throats with her bare fangs.

She has had so much blood on her hands.

...

Once, she took the form of...

No.

She was blessed with the form of a Terastallized Salazzle. By whom, she never learned. She had never even seen power such as this. Becoming a crystal all her own, massively influenced by the glitter and gleam of beautiful Tera jewels.

She was not in this form for very long.

After all, she was only blessed with that ability for a reason.

The voice at the back of her head echoed. "Bring my Meowscarada back to me. Let no one defy you. Be rid of her false owner and bring her back to me."

It was such a wonderful voice... but the Zoroark never knew where it was coming from. Even as she looked from wall to wall, all crevices caked in fresh crystals, she was sure there was no one in that cavern with her.

That voice truly was just in her head.

Like someone, or something, had linked up to her mind...

Regardless, she now had a mission. Bring the Meowscarada back. And as vague as that might have sounded, there was only one Meowscarada trapped here somewhere above the crystal cavern, alongside that human trainer.

All exits were blocked off.

It would have been so easy to burn the man to a crisp—

But no. Zoroark preferred to take things slower. Sure, she could have murdered the human right then and there, considering the Meowscarada's grand magic had been totally deactivated for the time being.

But Zoroark was a stunning actress who loved to play God. There was time to play also with her food. Toy around with the human and his magic Meowscarada, make herself seem like nothing but a sweet Salazzle meant to fill a spot in the team.

She had her playtime, although brief.

Everything had backfired when the Meowscarada fought back.

A clean strike across the back of the neck, and Zoroark easily lost her head.

For a moment, she died.

Lights out.

Her illusion faltered and she returned to her normal form, the body of a Zoroark. As she came to, collecting her senses, she realized there was still life to be lived. The power that had been bestowed upon her in the form of icy Tera crystals and an overflowing battle prowess — it was more than an ability; it was magic. Magic that kept her alive.

How?

She didn't know exactly, but the one behind those Tera crystals must have been something of a God.

Yes, another God that kept her alive!

She still had that mission to accomplish.

She would follow that trainer's shadow in plain sight.

He would never suspect a thing. Neither would the cat. And as soon as Zoroark found a chance, she would strike, complete her mission, and taste the praise of a higher being.

The one behind the existence of Tera crystals.

...

Once, she heard that trainer was headed to a place called Blueberry Academy.

And she took the form of a lovely young human girl named Avery.
