Part Thirty Two

Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook were having the hardest time.

Namjoon and Yoongi were constantly checking up on the three while Seokjin with Hoseok had attached themselves to one another, holding back each other from acting out on their emotions.

But Jimin, it was the worst for him.

He didn't know why it was pissing him off to see Adrian talking so sweetly to Aila.

Maybe it was the way Aila would get lost in his presence and ignore everything around her. Or maybe the way Vannozzo and Brian seemed to come alive, all three of them sharing looks with meanings only known to them. Or maybe it was how hurt he was at seeing Iletsi and Kcire with their father.

But Jimin wasn't the only one.

Jungkook and Taehyung were also burning with the jealousy of seeing this particular display. Iletsi looked so happy to have her dad.

And Kcire looked hopeful.

And it killed them knowing that Kcire probably wanted his parents to be back together, because unconsciously, they wanted to be that for him.

They wanted more than anything to be the father figure to the two kids they had fallen in love with in such a short period of time.

They wanted to hold onto Aila. Talk to her late at night. Find out what she likes and what scares her. They wanted to discover her imperfections and fall in love with them, just as they had with one another. They wanted to see those two kids grow into young adults, making sure to guide them in the best possible direction in life.

"Hey guys..... just..... wanted to check up on you?" Nyala called out to the group of soulmates.

They were now back from visiting the old villages in Daegu and were in charge of getting ready for a cookout.

"We're good. Thanks for asking." Yoongi smiled at her.

"Do you need any help? I'm a great cook! Promise!"

Hoseok and Namjoon smiled at her outburst of energy at the idea of helping.

"Umm wanna make this salad?" Seokjin pointed to the vegetables he was getting ready to cut.

"Yes! I'm really good at cutting vegetables!" She quickly made her way to stand beside Seokjin and began dicing vegetables. Seokjin received her with a smile, finding her presence welcoming.

"Where are the kids? It's so quiet." Jungkook asked.

"They convinced Van and Brian to take them out to the little ice cream shop up the street. But they did it behind our backs so don't tell them we know." Nyala giggled.

Jungkook smiled.

"So how do you know?" Yoongi asked.

"They were being so loud when they gained up on Van and Brian. They completely surrounded the two and threatened to tell Antônia, Maria and I about their anniversary gifts," Nyala laughed.

They laughed with Nyala.

"Damn. They would rat out their fathers like that?" Taehyung asked, acting shocked.

"Oh thats nothing. Van and Brian didn't have a choice but to take them for ice cream before dinner."

"Damn, I guess ice cream will make you betray your own family." Hoseok shook his head.

"Oh they'll betray each other for a cookie. When Arlet was young we would offer her 25 cents to tell us what her brothers did."

All seven smiled as they imagined a little girl telling her parents about the trouble her brothers made.
