(Cassandra)

I watched as she ran. Her legs kicked up and she started going faster and faster, turning a two legged run into a four legged one. I watched as she transformed into a large beautiful golden-brown furred wolf. This form was more like the other werewolves I'd seen

I  think I understand what she meant about nature  I thought as I saw her in her full glory. Id seen the wolves run before, bark, howl, but none as enchanting as her. I was entranced, watching her every movement, I could see every muscle tense and flex as she got faster and faster. She was a work of art in her natural form.

I planned to et her run for a few minutes, but a few minutes turned to a few hours, and then the whole night. Watching her had intrigued me more than I had thought it would.

I saw as the night sky slowly start to glow brighter. And I called to her to signal that it was time to leave. She came towards me and I thought to do what I did with most dogs and pat her on the head. She seemed to want more when she started whining and i indulged her with a scratch.

We made our way back, and split ways once inside. Once I made it to my room I wrote a quick letter to her. I knew there would be some time before I saw her again. Today was the last of my rest days before I was back on the throne.

I gave the letter to a guard to give to her and he scurried away. I was alone in my room once again. I had planned to sleep some of the night away but a familiar knock came from my door.

I opened it to see Leo, my brother staring and me red faced.

"2 months... I take 2 months away deliberating with other covens, and were in a blood drought, wolves are getting through our defenses, our people are DYING, and I'm hearing your main concern is about keeping a pet" He yells.

"Im fixing it." I tell him as I walked back into my room and sat on my bed. He followed me and sat down next to me and let out a sigh. He put his arm around me and embraced me in a hug. He smelled rotten as usual. I could see his blonde roots were growing out. He had dyed his hair black before he left, wanting to blend in with the other covens. His facial hair had finally grown in too, our father was right, it would take 90 years. He was thicker than he was when he left too. He'd always been a stick of a man, but he's grown some more muscle. Almost bigger than me.

"I know you're trying your best, how can I help" he asked, he pulled away from the hug waiting for a reply.

Leo had always been the better leader in my eyes. He was caring , decisive, intelligent, and kind.  He was what one would think of when they think of a ruler. A man with no flaws, in the eyes of everyone else at-least.

"I'll tell you how you can help, when you tell me why your back early"

"I couldn't have just missed my little sister" he smiles, teasingly

"No, you couldn't, so what was it" i ask

"The others know, the caldioras, the powers, the Albotrozs, they know we're weakened. We cant afford another attack on our leadership, we cant afford to look weak" he says, quickly changing his demeanor.

"Cassy, its bad enough as it is to have the others talk about us, but our people are too. Their saying we dont know what were doing. I know your a strict leader why haven't you done anything, a revolt could leave us in shambles"

"A revolt won't happen.... I planned to address them tomorrow" i reply, I hadn't even started making the speech

"And why not before, why not when the problems started to arise?" He asked
